Sanrus is the only child of the Seakeeper family; no one knows why the parents took so long to conceive, speculation ranging from one or both being low-fertility to the mother being pregnant and having complications to the fact that the two hated each other and weren't trying to make children and anything in between.

But Sanrus was eventually born, and with her parents aging she was given control of the family business at a relatively young age by comparison to the other family heads. Still she seems to get along with them well, exhibiting a social grace that is unusual for one so young and in the short time she's been in charge she's done the family very proud.
