I want to write a suicide story, but I can't think of a good plot. If anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
Edit: I was planning to do a story about a teenager (possibly boy or girl, not yet decided)

First of all, make sure to put up a trigger warning before your story even starts. Suicide is a very sensitive subject for many people, myself included.
Secondly, there are many more instances of suicide in teenagers and young adults than there are for middle-anged and elderly people. So depending on which age group you pick will determine what the plot of your story will most likely be. I suggest doing some research on your own time as you delve deeper into your story's topic and plot.

Are you sure about that? From my research I thought that middle-aged white men were by far the leading demographic when it comes to death by suicide. I apologise if I'm incorrect or if this sounds at all condescending or insulting - I'm just genuinely curious as to where you're getting your facts because they're very different from my sources.

I've been scanning multiple news sources for my information and they usually talk about a more recent development with our Gen Z generation so the information I have may be a bit off considering those points. Thank you for the graphs though that was very informational. It's odd how news articles only really cover teen suicides or something similar but never really cover the statistics surrounding the adult suicides of this era.
