Hinata shook her head.
"I think it's for the best my mother never taught me her song. Now, I have so many of my own."
Hinata shook her head.
"I think it's for the best my mother never taught me her song. Now, I have so many of my own."
Skye smiled, "True, my mother was only ever to teach me a few,
"When you are left with a blank slate, you can color it any way you want."
"True. But the songs my mother taught me, are also a piece of who I am, and my heritage…"
"My heritage never reached me in time," Hinata remembered the day her world blew up.
"Sometimes, you have to make your own heritage."
"I wish." said Skye. "But I decided to go looking for my mom after she disappeared.. and the rest of my heritage found me on it's own.."
Hinata turned to Skye.
"I wish I could do that. Find my parents."
Skye sighed, "I never did find mom." he said. "But my father found me…"
"I take it that didn't go so good?"
"It went well… except for the fact that I got saddled with a leadership position I never wanted.."
Hinata laughed.
"Same. I had to lead over 300 people when I was seven."
"I somehow have to go from a street rat to Alpha." said Skye. "I'm used to being alone. Occasionally helping a friend, but not a leader of hundreds…"
Hinata nodded in empathy.
"You won't be perfect at the beginning. Don't worry, you can make it. Do it your way, not someone else's."
"Kinda hard to do when you're expected to live up to a legacy you barely know anything about.."
"I just brushed it off. If people didn't like what I did, they could kiss my combat boots."
"Unfortunately for me, tradition is everything in the Nebulae Pack." said Skye. "And those are tradtions I know nothing about.."
"Give this a thought: sometimes, tradition is the thing that is holding progression back."
"I know." said Skye. "And I agree. Unfortunately, the council of the Pack I'm supposed to lead, doesn't."
Hinata nodded.
"I have to deal with the Dimensional Council. Sometimes, I just tell them to suck my big fat ponytail and I do what I know needs to be done. I'm in charge, and I know how to run this stuff. I can see that you do too."
Skye laughed. "Boy I wish I could." he said. "But every time I try… well… that's when all my confidence vanishes…"
"Here. This might help with that." Hinata handed Skye a piece of paper. It had numbers on it.
Skye studied it for a moment, "What??"
"It's my Dimensional number. If you need a confidence boost, just read it out loud. And before you get the wrong idea, I am happily married to my husband." Hinata winked.
Skye smiled, "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." he said.
Hinata laughed.
"Knowing my husband, he'd probably show up and kick the councils' butts."
