(I mean, it is later.)
(Just by a bit. Is there any motivation to resurrect this thang? A zombie pandemic is just what this world needs now.)
(I mean, maybe? I've been having trouble keeping up with rps so I might be a little sporadic)
(Same here.)
(Tale as old as time. Translation: same.)
@black_cats_and_witch_hats > "I am," Pollux answered, trembling a little, "So there are freaking giant mutant spiders now? I think I'd actually rather die."
@StarkSpangledMayflower > “Harley sighed “we need to move, this many in one area means that their part of a pack, and the rest are bound to come.”
Cash nodded absently at Peyton and Pollux. "Let's move." He didn't quite know how to follow up a confident statement like that. To where? How? "Any ideas? I mean, direction seems pointless right now. Unless we're moving away from a zombie or zombie spider, that is."
[For now I'll assume it is Cash (moi), Pollux (@black_cats_and_witch_hats) and Peyton (@ShadeStar). Hopefully more peeps return.]
(Alright, I'll try to jump back in. Zoe got taken by a spider a few pages back, and the user is deleted, so we have some fun horrors to throw at our characters)
Pollux glanced back and forth, trying to figure out the best way out. Yet, he swallowed his fear and made a different choice.
"Zoe. Let's find her," he insisted, "We'll need to look for clues and move quickly. I don't think we can handle losing more people."
He took a deep, shaky breath and scanned the area for anything Zoe may have dropped. He found traces of blood on the ground, but was unsure whether it was hers for sure. Pollux crept forward towards it.
Cash agreed. Safety was in numbers as long as everyone kept quiet and didn't lose their heads. It seemed the people who didn't keep it together were weeded out rather quickly. A dark thought.
He went over to the blood traces Pollux was currently examining. The red liquid was streaked with streams of black bubbles, separated almost like oil and water. "That's some funny-looking blood if I ever saw any."
(Here is an updated character list with locations. I've deleted characters who never posted or died to the best of my knowledge. I have kept characters who have spoken within the last 10 pages. I've also reopened the RP because of the character deaths/deletions. It may be helpful to get some ahem new blood. I can control Zoe for now unless/until someone else wants the job. @NerdGirl2.0, you'll be missed.
Peyton encroached to glance over the shoulder of Pollux to see the blood. She hummed in thought as she studied how the weird the blood seemed to be separating from itself, "Yeah… I kind of want to get a sample of it."
Cash allowed Peyton a better view of the liquid on the ground. "Go ahead, science girl. Maybe you'll get a chance to test it somehow, somewhere." He looked back down. "I wonder if it's even human." His main thought after thought was: If it's not human, then it's not Zoe's. If so, then Zoe might still be alive.
Peyton reached into her bag to see if she had anything she could collect the blood sample with. It wouldn't be a great sample. but it would be good enough. She found a little sample tube, and attempted to cleanly get the blood, "I wonder too. Well, if we ever get any type of lab equipment at least we'll have this."
"I guess we'll see. If humanity makes it out alive, and the dead stay dead, then I'd say we had a great chance of getting back to normal." Cash looked around. The area ahead of them was wide open and covered in waist high, green grass. About 500 yards ahead the grassy plain met with a pitiful stretch of forest.
"Who's up for going that way?"
(I missed this. Writing with a purpose, using my brain, etc.)
"Yeah, I was going to say… With what lab equipment?" Pollux sighed.
He glanced ahead to where Cash indicated.
"Is it really wise to wade through grass that tall? If something's hiding in there, we're screwed, man. We can't afford to get taken by surprise again."
As Pollux spoke, Cash imagined movement in the tall grass, just as if something large and vile was waiting…waiting for them all. "You're right. I wasn't thinking." It wasn't the smartest thing to be caught doing while you're in the apocalypse, not thinking.
"What do you guys think? Do you see anything that might indicate where she [Zoe] went?" Where she was taken, that is.
"Well, it's for like a what-if scenario okay?" Peyton contested with Pollux's very good point. She instead chose to focus on what Cash said and mentally agreed with Pollux before humming in thought, "Which way did the zombies come from? Maybe they left in the same direction."
"Fair enough," Pollux said with a shrug, "I say we follow the blood trail over here, but if you guys have a better idea, I'm all for it."
His eyes darted across the scene. He mentally followed the path he thought they might have taken, and his brow furrowed as he realized it led into more trees.
(I realized that this rp started my senior year of high school and now I'm a senior in college wtf-)
Cash nodded at Pollux's suggestion. "Let's do it." Follow the yellow brick road, or in this case, the bloody trail.
( @black_cats_and_witch_hats, that is INSANE.)
Peyton nodded with Cash, "I mean that makes sense. It doesn't exactly look like the zombie blood."
"Right. I'm not sure what it belongs to. Maybe if we're unlucky enough we'll get to find out." Cash picked up his bat and leaned it on his shoulder. "Let's head out."
(4-hour time jump, anyone?)
Zoe looked at the clouds above her. They looked like ice cream. The sky in between them was a crazy blue. Gorgeous.
The 16-year-old winced and grasped at her right side. A thick cut between two ribs was bleeding slowly. It stung like hell. She wasn't sure if those spider mutants were zombies, but she would bet money that they had something to do with the Plague. She had no water, let alone alcohol to sanitize the gash.
Zoe sighed. She missed her fellow survivors…her friends. But I have to stay away. Just in case.
(We could do a time jump)
