A wave of nervousness washed over Cade. Well this is it. No turning back now He handed his cup of hot chocolate to Chelsea as he made his way towards the front door.

Poor boy, they’re gonna tear him apart. Chelsea sighed and shook her head.

She suddenly appeared within the group. “Heyyyy! Miss meeee?” She grinned as wide as her dead guardian.

Jasper spun around from where he had been staring out the window dramatically. “Chelsea?” He signed quickly, slightly wary.

“Jasper! Wow, everyone’s here! It’s like a party.” Chelsea chuckled, “Why wasn’t I invited?”

“Phoebe’s dead,” he sighed monotonously, turning back to the window and ignoring Cade. Some part of his animal brain did notice the boy was cute, but that was all.

Welp, time for him to think I’m heartless. “I know, I saw.” Chelsea shrugged.

Cade lingered in the doorway, not sure if he should announce his presence yet. He listened in on Chelsea's conversation, noting that the new person she was talking to was named Jasper.

Chelsea glanced at Cade, then she reappeared on a bookshelf. Bookshelves are nice, now start your apology.

Teresa came out of a room, "jasper? I was wondering if–" she noticed Chelsea on the bookshelf "hey Chelsea." She smiled weakly, not noticing the shadow standing in the doorway.

Cade decided not to speak yet. He needed time to think before he did something else he regretted. Is this what you're supposed to do? Take time to think before you do something idiotic?

“Heyyy.” Chelsea grinned, resembling her guardian even more, “You should turn around.”

“Tell the kid in the doorway to not stand there awkwardly and come in. Unless he did something terrible. Like, I dunno, kill someone I guess,” Jasper signed to Teresa.

"What weird kid?" She asked confused. She turned back towards the doorway and her face turned hard. "What are you doing here traitor?" She asked icily

“Oof.” Chelsea whispered, giddily watching the chaos brewing.

Cade wasn't expecting someone to notice him so soon. His mind went completely blank, leaving him staring at Teresa for a few seconds. "I came to appologize." He stated simply. Cade's voice was a lot quieter than usual, which he wasn't used to at all.

"Well," she said sweetly "you can take you apologies and shove 'em! Traitors are not welcome in this humble abode." She said, glaring at him

Well….I wasn't expecting to get that firm of a 'no'. Cade thought, trying to think of a way to get Teresa to side with him. "Look, I'm really sorry. I don't usually appologize to people like this, so I don't know what else I can do. Alice is after all of us now, and as much as I hate to admit it, I can't run from her alone."

Nykidia was in the other room when she heard arguing. "What are you arguing about n-" Nykidia said walking into the other room and seeing Teresa arguing with Cade. "What the hell is he doing here?" She asked Teresa.

Virgil was outside of the house, a bit into the forest that was bordering it, scolding Heath, again. "Why didn't you send word?" Virgil asked with a scowl, this was a question that kept being repeated so Heath thought it was best to answer that one. "Why didn't you send word? I saw you going with the queen, why did you go with the queen? You went with her willingly! Then I followed you and you slaughtered a village, you trapped even the kids!" Heath yelled, his yell was loud enough for people inside the house to hear. Ya know, wink wink, nudge nudge.

Scarlet stared at Cade, disbelieving. “Well,” she spat after a moment, “Maybe you should have thought f that before you turned us in to the psychopath on the throne for a bit of coin.” Suddenly, shouts from outside reached her ears. Virgil.

Nykidia was in the other room when she heard arguing. "What are you arguing about n-" Nykidia said walking into the other room and seeing Teresa arguing with Cade. "What the hell is he doing here?" She asked Teresa.

"He came to apologize, but I already told him to leave. Traitors are not allowed."
