Scarlet nodded, choking on whatever she was going to say. Her mother looked straight into her with those cold blue eyes, the eyes that had haunted her for so many years. “L-Let’s go. She saw me. Oh my god—“

Slowly, very slowly, a smile formed on Alice’s lips. “My baby….” She let go of the head, letting it drop to the ground and roll away. “Come to mama~”

"Wait! She saw you. Oh we are so dead." Nykidia said as she gently pulled Scarlet away from Alice's gaze. "Night. Do you think?" "I can do it just we have to get out of town." "OK. Everybody. We need to go. Now."

Scarlet nodded, clenching her shaking hands into fists. “Y-Yeah.”

"Nope." Cade bit his lip, thinking for a second. "Actually, we should go meet up with the others. I probably need to apologize."

Chelsea grinned, “If you say so. You’re so dead… Well, they were watching the execution, so now they’re probably leaving… probably to someone’s house.”

Nykidia and Night tried to move everybody out of town before the guard or Alice could get to them.

"Wait…execution? Who's execution? What happened?" Cade asked.

“Ah. You haven’t heard?” Chelsea asked with a gleam in her eye, “Phoebe was just executed.”

Cade's eyes went wide with shock. "…Executed…? You mean…" He indicated his head being chopped off. "That kind of executed…?"

“Yep.” Chelsea nodded, “The head chopped right off.”

"Was that…my fault?" Cade wondered out loud, feeling the guilt already filling his mind.

Chelsea wrinkled her nose, “Of course not. You guys were totally separate. Now come on, I have an idea of where they’re going. Or we could stay and you could get stabbed.”

Cade, still in shock about the execution, nodded. "Alright, let's go."

Chelsea nodded, she looked around then started walking, “So how are you planning to apologize, hm?”

"Are you judging me for doing the right thing?" Cade asked Chelsea, surprised that people questioned your choices no matter if you were good or bad.

I literally just asked you how you were going to apologize? People are weird. “It’s what I do. But I was just genuinely curious of how you were going to apologize, geez.” Chelsea grumbled, stepping over a fallen log.

"I haven't figured it out yet." Cade mumbled quietly as he walked.

“Welp, it better be good, since you’re apologizing for trying to get them killed just so you could have some money.”

"You reminding me isn't helping." Cade replied snarkily, keeping his head forward as they walked through the forest. "I admitted that I was an idiot, which is a big step for me. Leave me alone."

“You want me to leave you alone?“ Chelsea raised her eyebrow skeptically, “Here?”

Cade sighed, narrowing his eyes at Chelsea. "Stop making good points. It's making me look bad."

“That’s my jobbbb.” Chelsea smirked, looking at the sky then at the ground. “Oh, don’t step on that. That’s nature’s land mine.”

Cade stopped, staring at the ground. "What is? There's nothing there."

“Just trust me. I’m not blowing up a potential client.” Chelsea sighed.
