Scarlet shook her head at him. “We all did.”, she replied simply. “And if I recall correctly, all of you threatened us, plus you stabbed me, so we have no reason to stay.” Her arm was still dropping blood into the grass.
Scarlet shook her head at him. “We all did.”, she replied simply. “And if I recall correctly, all of you threatened us, plus you stabbed me, so we have no reason to stay.” Her arm was still dropping blood into the grass.
"I stabbed you…?" Cade thought back to what had happened in the past few minutes. "Well sh*t, I guess I did. You…uh…good. You deserved it."
Scarlet’s expression shut down completely, eyes turning to ice. “Tell me, what exactly have I ever done to you? My mother has done plenty, but she’s done the same to me. Stop assigning blame to people who have never made a single move against you.”
Teresa watched the wishaps from the doorway, too afraid to come outside
Cade, surprised by her response, backed away a bit. "Well excuse me, but it's hard to believe that the daughter to the horrible Queen Alice is some super nice princess who's too scared to actually face someone in a fight and would rather run away."
Scarlet met his eyes unwaveringly. “Try being force-fed human hearts when you disobey your mother. Try having a knife pressed to your throat every single day. You see this?” She waved a hand around her scarred face, “All her doing. Try living with an insane, cannabalistic mother who makes you watch while she snaps the neck of the Inktober people who have ever cared arout you. Try waking up every morning to a mouth dripping with blood, just hanging above you. Try going through all that daily and then have the first people you meet when you try to escape threaten you and assume you’re just as bad as the person who made your life literal hell.”
Cade stared at her, a hint of worry in his eyes. He gulped, then took a few steps back. "Someone else talk now." He muttered quietly.
Scarlet shook her head and made to leave again, anxious to check in on Virgil once they were alone. “Have a nice life.”
Nykidia looked at Cade. "You saw it too?" She asked. Night hadn't seen it so she assumed she went into one of her insanity fits.
Cade nodded, glad that he wasn't the only one who had seen those terrible things. "What the hell was all that?"
"Wait you saw them dead too?" Nykidia asked again for confirmation not fully believing it..
"I did. All of them. The queen she-" Cade cut off, staring at the princess for a moment before turning back to Nykidia. "She killed them all."
"That's what I saw too." Nykidia said lowering her head.
"Yeah." Virgil nodded shakily to Scarlet. "I don't want my powers to affect anyone else." He muttered as he talked, it was still able to be heard by the others though.
"Alright, let's find a…. cave or something." Scarlet pulled Virgil away, heart thundering. She barely noticed the acute pain in her bleeding arm.
"Powers? Nykidia asked looking at Virgel.
"Wait," Cade started after overhearing what the princess's friend had said. "You did that? Did you kill them?!"
Virgil looked terrified. "I don't kill." He whimpered, he didn't kill on purpose anyhow.
"He didn't kill anybody." Nykidia told Cade. "He must a type of illusionist. It was an illusion. A vision. No one is dead yet Cade."
Yet. He repeated in his head. Cade shook his head in disbelief. "So…none of that was real? That was a real jerk move on your part." He said, pointing to the princess's friend.
Scarlet looped an arm around Virgil and gave him a comforting squeeze. "Just leave him alone, she snapped at the strangers. "You've done enough already."
"Wow." Virgil turned and glared at him. "You just tried to kill me and Scarlet and you say that was a jerk move?!"
"Fine. Come back to the house. We will talk. King of Club will keep us off of you. He believes in pacifism." Nykidia growled.
"I'd much rather die than go through that again." Cade admitted, glancing at the wound on the princess's arm.
"Oh hell no!" Virgil says, grabbing Scarlet and dragging her away. He needed to find someplace he could treat her wound.
