“I’ve been watching you…” an echoey voice boomed from the creature. A strange looking skull hung from the shadowy body and dropped with black blood. It fell on Sofie and she flinched each time a drop hit her.
“You shouldn’t be here…” the creature said again, leaning closer and closer to Sofie, “Leave now!” The creature opened its jaws wide and roared.
Sofie shivered and stepped back. This creature could take shape of anyone’s worst fear. She’d heard about these creatures. They were usually found as guardians. “Where do we go?” Sofie asked solemnly.
He saw Sophie and the creature. He stood behind them and he completely looked like an idiot as he held some berries. “W..wanna share?” He said.
The shadowy creature turned to Andre with a snarl. His expression changed as he saw the berries. “Share?” The creature repeated.
(I swear every time Riverpaw gets scared I just wanna go run and hug her)
“Y…yeah. Sharing.. Do you want some berries?” His voice shaking. He had never seen this creature before, and didn’t wanna see it ever again.
(I swear she's working on being braver ^~^)
"S-Sofie?" Riverpaw hissed to try and get the bigger wolf's attention. She didn't know what to do other than let the situation play out, but she felt like Sofie knew more of what was going on and she wanted at least a little context.
Sofie slowly backed away to where Andre was standing and whispered back to Riverpaw, “What do you need?”
The creature hardly noticed Sofie’s retreat. Instead, it stood gazing intently at Andre, a question in its eyes, “What is sharing?”
She leaned forward just a bit, too afraid to come out of the den. "W-who was that wolf that disappeared, what is that thing, a-and what's going on?" She whined.
“Sharing.. is kind of like giving something of yours, to someone else who doesn’t have any.” He said. “I’ll share my berries with you..” He slowly walked towards the creature, and put a couple berries in his hand. “There ya go! I hope you like them.”
The creature looked down in confusion, but he threw the berries into his mouth. His face lit up, “These were berries, you said?”
Sofie backed up a little bit more to where Riverpaw was hiding, “I think it’s a creature that takes the form of your worst fear. It has to be tangible though, or else it can’t transform. Although I believe they can make you hallucinate…” Sofie hesitated a moment, “That wolf was my worst fear. At least one that would survive on dry ground.”
"Oh…" Hearing that only made Riverpaw more nervous, though seeing the new wolf calm the creature with berries did lift some of the initial fear. "I-it won't hurt us, will it? Or…come after me?"
“Yeah! Berries are good! Would you like to find some with me?” He asked, his voice shaking a little.
“I’m not sure. I’ve only ever heard about these creatures. But in the stories I heard they were depicted as both good and bad characters. They would help animals who lost their way, but they also would eat anyone who came to close to what they were protecting.” Sofie only knew these stories because of her friend Dark. He knew a lot about mythical creatures.
The creature’s face suddenly twitched into a smile, “Yes!” Clearly this creature hadn’t had much good interaction.
(Soooo idk where Lia, Deathman, and that one person who was gonna join, @Ash-has-a-One-Piece-problem , went..)
Riverpaw flinched at the creature's exclamation. "O-okay, well, j-just tell me when it's safe to come out." She said, then she ducked further into the den and curled into a tight ball. She peeked up and could see the Moon through the roots and leaves. There was way too much going on for her but at least there was still something she could take a bit of comfort in. Oh, Stars, I just wanna go home.
“Here, come with me!” He said, grabbing the creatures hand. “It’ll be fun, berries are a little hard to find, but when you do.. they’re amazing!”
The creature went with Andre willingly, a smile still on its face.
“Is there enough room for me in there?” Sofie said, peering down at Riverpaw.
Riverpaw perked up, untucking herself a tiny bit. "I-I don't think so." She giggled from inside. "It's like, less than half your size."
(Lia is asleep and has been for the past while so unless you want to wake her up she's sleeping until the sun rises)
(Oooohhhhhhhhhhhh.. How is she not awake with all this ruckus? Lol I applaud Lia for her sleeping skills)
(A Snorlax at heart, that cat.)
He came back with the creature. Carrying a ton of berries. “He thought it was really fun! I did too!!” They both dropped the berries, as the stack measured about a couple of inches.
Sofie smiled sheepishly, “Oh,” she turned and walked towards Andre and the creature, “So ummmmm…” Sofie paused, trying to think about what to say, “What’s your name?” She finally said, gesturing towards the creature.
(Guys help I don’t know what to name the creature XD)
(Pft, I have a list I can pm if you want. I'm pretty good at naming things :)
