John grinned against Halo’s skin as he pulled out a classic, “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven, my angel?” His words were sweet as he ghosted his hands over Halo’s strong back. His eyes fluttered closed as he pulled Halo against him.
Halo rolls his eyes and chuckles, "No, but I scraped my knees crawling out of hell~" He purrs in reply. He shivers at John's touch and smiles, holding the other close.
John let out a guttural, instinctual noise, somewhat like a purr, somewhat like a moan. He flicked Halo’s neck with his tongue, a hand running through the other’s soft hair, “Mmmm…”
Halo gasps, his eyes going wide. "N-not there… Feels weird…" He mutters when the other licked his neck. He nuzzles into John, a small sound escaping his lips.
John wrapped his arms around Halo, turning the other so he could nuzzle into him easier. He slowly swam closer to shallow water, just enough to touch the bottom. He held Halo close, just to know the other was still there. Still with him.
Halo holds the other, sighing happily as he's in Johns arms. Just being with the other made him feel safe, feel loved and secure. He was grateful for that. It was rare when he got love and attention, he hadn't received any in the past few years. He nuzzles into the other happily.
John smiled into Halo’s head, dragging his restless hands through the other’s perfect hair. Halo even smelled perfect. John pressed the other against him subconsciously. It was just his instinct to protect, and he couldn’t dare let Halo be taken away again.
Halo smiles, purring at the attention. He loved it when his hair was played with. He practically turned into a kitten when his hair was played with. He presses closer to John, sighing a little bit. He loved John so much. He nuzzles into John's shoulder. He was going to do his best to love and look after the other, no matter what. He runs his hands mindlessly on John's shoulder blades, enjoying the others company.
John smiles at the purrs, leaning into the other gently. It was like the puzzle of his life just got completed, like Halo was his other half. And gosh I love it when he nuzzles into my shoulder like that. It made John feel like he had something worth living for again. Like he wasn’t just going through the motions anymore. Like he wasn’t a soldier in a war, but a person.
Halo sighs happily as he rests on Johns shoulder, shutting his eyes. He was so happy at the moment. He felt like he was going to burst with happiness. He looks at John and kisses his neck softly before kissing his jawline and his lips. "I love you." He whispers softly as he rests on the others shoulders again. He was glad to have someone like John in his life. It made him so happy.
John accidentally let out a yawn, then laughed softly, “I think I need a bit of sleep after all that running around today, love,” He slowly started to wade out of the pool. John stared at the shimmering water as he said, “I’m glad. I’m glad that I met you, Halo.”
Halo nods and gets out with him, humming happily. He yawns softly, then looks down at his body. "Uh…" He looks up. "Apparently that thing was right. The story about the spring. I feel no pain and all of my wounds are gone…" He mutters, taking in the sight of his now healed body. He smiles at John. "I'm glad I decided to save you." He mutters, kissing the other gently.
Wow… Even I feel better from the pool… John leaned into the kiss, “I’m glad you did too,” John replied, picking up his clothes and tossing them onto a stalagmite. John looked down at his soaked boxers, laughing a little, “I really didn’t think that through very well.”
Halo smiles, cupping his cheeks as he kisses the other happily. "I love you…" He mutters. He does the same with his clothes. He nods and smiles, "Yeah. I don't think either of us did." He mutters. He laughs loudly before leaning against the other and nuzzles him. "Well, we might as well wait for a little while." He says cheerfully, kissing the others cheek.
“Yeah, we might…” John replied lazy, toying with the other’s hair a bit. Gosh he was so cute when he did that. And gosh, John didn’t deserve him. He curled his hand around Halo’s, “I like the way your hand fits in mine…”
Halo smiles as he leans against John. He loved how warm John felt. It felt nice. He sighs happily. He giggles softly when the other took his hand. "Me too. It makes me happy that we fit each other." He mumbles, nuzzling the other.
John hummed his satisfaction, “It makes me happy to, love.” He curls his hand around Halo’s neck, then planted a soft gentle kiss on the other’s forehead. He took another moment just to feel Halo there, just to hold the other’s hand, just to… be.
Halo smiles and holds the other, grinning at the kiss on the forehead. He releases a soft sigh and nuzzles the other gently. He looks up at John and kisses his neck before pulling away. "What should we do now?" He asks curiously.
“I want to know more about you,” John said with a lazy smile, “Like a question and answer.” He traced small circles with his thumb on Halo’s hand, “I want you to know more about me, too.”
Halo nods and smiles, nuzzling the other. "That sounds fun." He leads John towards a small little moss bed and sits them down, nuzzling into John's shoulder as he held John's hand. He was so peaceful at the moment, completely content with where he was at.
“Why did you stay at the log cabin? I mean, like why didn’t you keep looking for a place to live?” John started, staring at the crystals on the wall, enjoying Halo’s warmth and cuddles.
Halo hums in thought. "I think it was because the forest was peaceful. It was quiet. People were loud. I didn't like the noise. So I practiced medicine. Herbs, how to heal a cut, mend broken bones, etc." Halo shrugs. "Why did you join the army?"
“I always liked the idea of serving my country, I guess. I always played with toy armies when I was younger, and I just… I don’t know. It was my calling,” John explained with a fond smile, “What about the dog tags you wear?”
Halo starts and looks down at the dog tags he still wore around his neck. He was so used to wearing them, he had forgotten they were there. He smiles a little, "They belonged to a close friend of mine. He died protecting the ones he loved. I lost him, and then I thought I was going to die too, but I was sent to heaven, rejected and thrown back here." He runs his thumb along the dog tag. "Why did you hesitate to kill me?" He asks softly. "When we first met?"
John cupped Halo’s soft cheek, “I saw… I saw you, in your eyes. You’re innocent. And if I would’ve killed you, I- I would’ve gone over the edge. I wouldn’t have been able to look myself in the mirror anymore,” John confessed, smiling sadly, “I’m really glad I hesitated.” John sighed a little, then smiled, “Do you know why your eyes are so beautiful?”
