(Going to bed. I will respond in the morning)
"You have the right to it, and you will be at some point!" Shadow said. "Maybe you just need a friend? Someone who cares about you, will support you, and stuff like that."
(Going to bed. I will respond in the morning)
"You have the right to it, and you will be at some point!" Shadow said. "Maybe you just need a friend? Someone who cares about you, will support you, and stuff like that."
Arthur sighed, "and why would the guy who tried to kill me yesterday wanna help?" He asked, "More importantly, why should I trust you?"
(Cool, see you tomorrow!)
(Back for a few minutes. School starts in a bit)
"You don't know my story," Shadow said. "You can trust me, though. I can help you. Everything will end up being great."
(Same, but I keep going fr as long as possible in class)
Arthur shook his head, "I can't trust you…"
(I'm on as class got out and the next one hasn't started)
"You can trust me," Shadow said. "You really can."
(I will be on and off for the next hour and half cause tech class…)
Arthur sighed, "How?" he said, "You tried to kill me…"
(I won't be on much for a while, but I'll reply when I can)
"I know, I know, but, honestly, I regret it," Shadow said. "I'll still try to help you. As I said, maybe you just need a friend."
Arthur rolled to his feet, "How can I trust you? What reason do I have?" he asked, forcing himself not to cry as he shifted and ran off.
Shadow followed him. "I'd love to show you how I can be! I'm not as rude as you think I am!"
Arthur ran faster, not wanting to try and trust this jerk.
Shadow ran after him still.
Arthur eventually stopped at a stream, huffing, "Just leave me alone will you?" he said,
"I just want you to be happy!" Shadow said. "Believe me on that!"
Arthur backed away, "And yesterday you promised to make my life miserable.."
"That was around the 'friends' I'm forced to have!" Shadow said. "I was personally thinking about making your life better. If you know anything about me you'd understand!"
"Your actions should never be affected by who you hang out with. And hanging out with people doesn't mean you have to act a certain way." said Arthur quietly. "I can't risk trusting you. I've already been hurt by mislaid trust, I can't risk it again…."
"You don't know why I act how I act, or what kind of things would happen if I were to be seen treating people nicely," Shadow said.
Arthur frowned. "Getting hurt shouldn't be a reason to hurt others. If you wanted me to trust you then you should've acted differently." he turned to leave again.
"No! It's way worse than that!" Shadow said. "Being nice could lead to my death! All of my hatred towards so many people was out of fear! In fact, the only people I hate are the people who force me to be this way!"
Arthur looked back sadly. "I know what that's like. More than anyone. But you have a choice to be different. You still have free will." And I didn't…….
"You… you can relate?" Shadow asked.
"Yeah… I get nightmares because of some of the things I was forced to do. I'm alone because of it. My own family can't look at me without seeing a monster first." he said quietly, trying not to cry. "But I was being controlled against my will. My body was being used while my mind was held captive. I had no free will. You can make a choice to change."
"I'm so sorry," Shadow said. "I didn't think what I did was bad at first. By the time I did it was too late to change. Everyone just knew me that way. I would love to fully change, though."
"Then do it" said Arthur flatly. "Nobody can tell you what to be other than you. Maybe if I'd had a choice than I wouldn't be alone, Maybe I'd actually have a will to keep going. Maybe I would be whole instead of falling apart.
"I'll be your friend," Shadow said. "I'll change, I promise. We both need a real friend in life, and I think we have each other."
