(lol aight)
Evan winced as Jez was kicked in the face, he noticed as he started bleeding from his nose onto the ground. He nodded to jess with a smile at jess before He moved to pick up Jez and put his arm around Evans shoulder as he had his bag around his waist with tuna in it.
"Why do you antagonize her..?" He whispered softly to Jez as he helped him. He looked at her with jez's bag and was currently thinking of a way to get it back to Jez without getting attacked by Jez.
(Yeahhhh a lot of this feeds into anxiety that both comes from Lyn’s past trauma and also just,,, the overall vibes lol)
Jesse rolls her eyes as she watches Evan help Jez up. Not understanding the appeal of helping someone like Jez. Someone as pathetic as him.
Maybe that's the thing that was appealing. Maybe helping pathetic people made him feel stronger? Made him feel like he mattered? She couldn't quite put her finger on it though. She hadn't known him for long, only about 15 minutes. This is her first encounter with him unlike with Jez. Though this is only her second, that's when she could best tell the worst and best things of a person.
First impressions aren't always the best in this world. Either they're always too good to be true and faked smiles. Or they wouldn't be so trusting and try their best to put a bullet or a hatchet in your head. And anytime after the second meeting, they have a certain part of their personality they bring out just to fit yours. The need to be loved is so strong. People will do almost anything for such validation. Just to be able to think they're special. Nobody's really themselves anymore. Especially in this world.
Fake
Fake
Fake
Fake
Fake
Fake
Fake
It drove Jesse crazy thinking about it. Dwelling on it. It Disgusted her. Fake people. But she understood why people needed to be fake. They needed to survive and if being fake is what they had to do…well so be it. But she couldn't. She didn't know how to be fake in all honestly. Putting on a fake smile, helping people she didn't actually care about. She didn't understand it. Like most things in life
But she couldn't tell much with Evan. Other than the fact that he was more timid, that most likely reflection some deep rooted trauma from his life, caring of others as long as they don't offend his cat by calling it a fish. Whatever that meant…
She wondered if he enjoyed taking care of pathetic people like Jez and a helpless cat he should have eaten a while ago. Was that also a reflection of who he was or was this also his first impression towards Jez? Did they know each other before she met them? He wasn't with him when they first met but that meant nothing. Was this an angle he could be working on? Was he trying to build trust just to exploit it or was he simply weak?
To Jesse's eyes, its always one or the other. Not both, nor was it ever neither. And he was sure that's what he was up to. How else would he be alive for this long? You don't survive with just being nice. Not to her anyway.
Maybe it was her messed up view on the world and everyone in it. How she was raised. More like manipulated, lied to, deceived left and right. She never knew what to think of the world so she made up something. Something to get her through it. Something to keep her sane. To keep her from losing it. Because if she didn't she would lose her sense of self.
Though she didn't even know this about herself. Not on the surface she at least.
It was all of course subconscious…because Jesse would see that as weakness and that's not something could would-or could accept.
She watches him as Jez looks down to the ground in defeat. If you could even call it that.
He coughs "I'm not. She's just a bitch" he says, spitting blood onto the ground, watching it as the blood splattered on the hard surface and onto their shoes. Looking at it made him want to gag. Which made it worse as more blood dripped down on onto the tile.
She steps forward again, purposely stomping. "you want to get kicked again little girl?" she asks, leaning down to look at him, laughing when she saw how pitiful he looked at the moment. She was sure Evan wasn't helping him just out of the kindness of his own sweet little heart. No. She believed he had motive. But what was it?
Jez looks down to the floor for just a few more moments before looking up at Evan "do it. The chances of my friends shooting you in the face are just gonna get higher" he glares
In which Jesse raises an eyebrow "ah! friends! lets go meet them!" she says, clapping her hands together once.
He rolls her eyes "great" he whispers to himself "guess we're going to my place" he says sarcastically, wanting to pass out.
(BRUH I WENT OVERBOARD SORRY)
Josefine took the flashlight and shrugged. It definitely looked bulky in her thin, slender hand. “We’ve restocked on supplies with few, uh, equipment before. This should be fine.”
She slowly let go of Lyn’s shoulder as they walked up to the door. Before they went in, Lyn held up a thumbs up, both to reassure the man and his daughter as well as to check with them before they entered.
(ITS OKAY IT WAS A GOOD READ HOVGOCVOGOOCIGXT)
(lol thanks!)
"i figured" he replies to her first comment, giving them a thumbs up when they started to go in.
He sits down on the cement, notioning for Ophelia do to the same. Which she did.
"what time do you think it is?" She asks, looking up to the sky.
Cassius sighs "hmm" he thought to himself as he looks up.
He points directly up above their heads towards the sun. "see how the sun is right above us in the middle of the sky?" he asks her
Fia points to it as well "No i wanted to know what time it is. Not where the sun is" she says
(they're just waiting for them :)
He was starting to get upset, and when I mean starting it means that Jess really was meeting his peek level. He wanted them all to get along but clearly this just wasn't gonna happen. Jess clearly had hostile intentions no matter what situation they were in. He had hated seeing Jez getting hurt and not doing anything about but someone had to be the one to make sure Jess didn't start beating up Jez or Jez didn't get shot.
"Your not helping by calling her names jez.." He sighed softly before Jess had responded to his name calling.
He stared at Jess as she threatened to kick him again.
"I know he's being a bit foul mouthed but you've already kicked him enough. We need to get moving anyway so let's not start another fight."
He was trying very hard not to say if you kick him again I will stand as a mediator. Evan may not look strong, but he's actually not that bad when it comes to strength. Especially since the apocalypse had started. He also did his best not to stare down at her in any negative way. He dosent want anything to start a fight if it dosent have too.
He tensed up at the mention of jez's friends shooting Jess on the face, and Jez probably noticed since he was helping him.
"Your friends..they aren't the violent type are they..?"
He whispered to Jez as they walked out of the door.
(One of these times Evans gonna pop Jess in the face, and when that happens it won't be pretty)
(Jesse's huge. yeah it wont be pretty if he tries anything)
Jesse glares down to him, swinging the bag over her shoulder "You wanna tell me to stop? what are you going to do with your 5'7" underweight lookin ass" she growls, her hand on her already cocked gun. "try something. I dare you. lets see how this goes. you'll be on the floor eating your own blood and ill be eating your cat" she says the last part just to be funny, though her voice was serious. (she doesn't know how to joke lmao)
She was still about two feet away from him, but she was ready for him to try something. Even if she thought he was too weak to do so.
he's way too sensitive to be in this world anyway she thought to herself.
"lets go before you get ahead of yourself" she says, talking a step back to get them going
Jez pushes himself (not with any aggression dw he likes Evan) away from Evan so he could stand on his own "not unless you show agression towards them." he says wiping blood from his lip. "its not worth it. lets go already"
(I'm sorry Jesse's a butthead. i like Evan lol)
(Lol thanks)
Evan was a tad bit confused, but he let out a soft chuckle anyway.
"I just met him, so I wouldn't know. Also I don't think you would be feeding a fish cat food."
He offered a smile back at her, before moving to look at Jez,
"I would hate for you to have to give away all your stuff Jez."
He frowned slightly as he spoke.Jasper watched as elodie drank the water shakily, wondering how long it had been since elodie last had water.
"Don't drink it too fast..it won't help you. Just drink it slowly."

(Do you want smth to happen while they’re here?)
The inside was just as dark as it looked on the outside. The girls tried to turn on the lights, but as expected, they didn’t work. Josefine turned on the flashlight, and they began scanning the shelves.
Like most convenience stores like it, the content of its shelves and walls was… spotty. Clearly, the place had been searched and ransacked before, but there were still some useful things left. The girls found pads and tampons, and Sef had exclaimed, ”Impressionante!” before getting shushed by Lyn. Bandaids, disinfectant, and bug spray were all found with a bit of digging, but food was scarce.
(you can do whatever youd like! i think itd be fun!)
Cass looks back down to her "well that's what I'm trying to tell you honey" he says with a soft chuckle "you can tell the time by where the sun or the moon is. If you want to check in the day, you look at the sun. But don't look directly at it. It'll hurt your eyes"
"What about night time?" Fia asks, looking up at the sun directly, even though he had told her not to. She didn't believe him. Not until she looked down quickly and rubbed her eyes rapidly
He shrugs, deciding it was best for her to learn the hard way if she wouldn't listen.
"well then you look up at the moon" he says, looking back to the convenience store for a second, watching as the light from the flash light moved around.
"so when the sun is right above us, that means its about noon. so twelve o'clock" he says, his eyes going back down to his daughters.
"when are we going back home?" She asks "like what time?"
"hm. well lets see. probably at twelve-thirty" he says, looking down at a non-existent watch on his wrist.
"but how many minutes?" she asks with a small laugh
"oh just a few don't worry" he says leaning down and kissing the top of her head.
(also guys, I edited the rules at the very beginning so id appreciate it if everyone checked it out. I just did it bc i saw these kind of rules on other rps and I thought it'd be a good idea to have them on mine. If you guys have any rules that you would like to have in the rp Pm me and we can talk about it!)
(Okay!)
Me when Evan has abandonment issues-)
Evan knew he shouldn't take personal offense to Jez shoving away from him. He knew it wasn't most likely his fault that Jez shoved away from him even though all he wanted to do was help Jez and actually be useful or helpful to him.
He shouldn't, it wasn't on him.
yet, he did.
He took it very personally, he knew it was stupid and he was probably over exaggerating but what if he wasn't? What if Jez had found an issue with him and decided he didn't want the help of Evan anymore?
He didn't move to help Jez again. More so like hovering nearby incase Jez did consider his help. He really hated not knowing what he did wrong in the case he did do something wrong.
It really felt like he had.
Why would Jez pushed away from himNd his help if he didn't see a problem with gim personally? Especially with how much he was injured.
Was it something he said? Maybe his last statement on how antagonizing people didn't help?
He hoped Jez would be able to forgive him if it was something he said, he was just wanting to defuse the situation and unfortunately that meant not getting agressive even though someone might deserve it.
He made a mental note to apologize to Jez about whatever he did to make him want to shove away from him and not accept his help.
He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Jez comment its not worth it. He assumed Jez had noticed his intentions towards Jess, how he seemingly wanted to just smack that women for the way she treated Jez.
He agreed that it wasn't worth it. He never wanted to do violence anyway. He hated violence.
"Yeah, I know. It isn't."
Jesse no doubt took this as a victory. "that's what I thought" she says as they turn away.
As they all walk out of the store, Jez's feet drag against the cracked pavement of the road "its just down this way" he says, looking to Evan "hey you mind helping me a bit?" he asks "I've got barely any balance with the condition I'm in right now" he says.
And he wasn't lying either. He looked like crap. He had big bruises forming on his arms, ribs, face and legs. Along with a black eye and a few cuts. His mouth still pooling with blood as his lip bled.
He made sure to keep his voice lower so Jesse couldn't hear, as she was walking with them but a bit more behind.
She looks around the building, looking for any signs of life around them in case anything decided it was time for lunch. In a way she was protecting protecting them. But that was only because she wanted something out of them.

(Oof I don’t have the mental energy atm)
After another five minutes, the girls quietly exited the building. They found a bag of chips and several bottles of lukewarm water, but that was about it.
Walking back over to Cassius and Ophelia, Sef handed back the flashlight. “Not a lot of food in there,” she reported. “But there is some good supplies.”
Elodie looked around, hoping someone could hear her.
"Could I please have some help getting up?" She asked, using all her strength to muster a loud enough voice, barely above a whisper.
Gus looked up and over at Elodie, only just realizing that she was still awake. "Oh, sure thing," he replied, going over to assist her. "Where you tryin' t'go? Might not be a great idea to walk anywhere with your leg hurt this bad."
(once again, like Darius, I forgot where I put him)
(I think he's still sitting with these two in the staff room)
Darius glanced at elodie, "gus is right, you don't want to make it worse"
