@Natasha
Sadie nodded. "God's Not Dead sounds good."
Sadie nodded. "God's Not Dead sounds good."
"It's on the shelf out there." Melissa remembered what else she had on the shelf. "Nevermind! I'll get it. Hold on a sec…" She finished and came out into the living room, tossing Sadie and McKenna each a custom trail mix.
"Thanks, Mel!" McKenna called after her friend as she started to dig into her bag of trail mix. Mmmmm, chocolate…
Sadie laughed as she caught her bag. "Thanks." She echoed McKenna.
"Yep!" Melissa beelined for the shelf and quickly hide the picture frame. "Here it is!" She pulled out the movie, hoping they hadn't seen the photo.
Sadie squinted, having seen the outline of her picture. "What's that?" She asked suspiciously, knowing that her friend was acting weirdly.
Melissa cringed, her back to her friends. "Nothing…"
McKenna raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, sure."
"It's nothing. Doing worry about it. I have to movie," Melissa said, heading over to put it in.
Sadie sighed, knowing it best not to press. But she'd be asking about it again later.
McKenna frowned but turned her attention to the movie.
Melissa hit play and opened her snack baggie. "Anyone wants drinks?" she asked, clicking through the trailers.
"I'm good." Sadie answered.
"Kenna?" Melissa asked.
(Sorry, sorry! I was making a character.)
"A water would be nice, thanks," McKenna answered.
(It's fine!)
Melissa popped up and headed back top the kitchen. "On it!"
Sadie took a deep breath and let it out dramatically. She stood up and grabbed a sketch book that she had left at Melissa's house from shelf and some pencils, then say down again and began sketching her idea.
(Je pense que je change si souvent mon image de profil que ça ne surprend plus personne.)
"How are you holdin' up?" McKenna quietly asked Sadie, turning to her with a gentle expression on her face.
(Wow I've never taken French in my life and I read and understood that perfectly…)
Sadie took a deep breath. "In shock still. That's why I'm not screaming my head off or crying my eyes out." She answered, not looking up from her notebook. "But when the shock wears off….I'm not looking forward to it."
(…I haven't, either…
I used Google Translate.)
McKenna nodded slowly. "Yeah, that will not be very fun… Let me know if you need anything, okay? Like, seriously, anything. Food, shelter, simply a shoulder to cry on. Whatever you need, I'm here for you."
(Je ne parle vraiment que l'anglais et un peu de langue des signes.
Oh, et très peu espagnol et français.)
(I didn't tho….)
Sadie smiled. "Well it's kind of already in the best friend contract, right?" She said with a teasing smile, before throwing a pillow at McKenna's face.
(How do you know what it says?!? I wouldn't be able–
Is it because of Portuguese and Spanish?)
"Hey!" McKenna exclaimed, laughing as she grabbed another pillow and swung it at Sadie.
(How do you know what it says?!? I wouldn't be able–
Is it because of Portuguese and Spanish?)
(Yeah, I guess. I know both lauguages, though am still learning and am still working on getting my Spanish to sound like Spanish and not Portuguese.)
