This…was bad. Very bad. And from the sound of it, the meeting was about to end.
Elise needed a distraction.
This…was bad. Very bad. And from the sound of it, the meeting was about to end.
Elise needed a distraction.
Zeus glared at Hades, who stared peacefully back
Hades bowed his head. “I will take my leave, then, sir.” He backed out of the room, leaving the family of Gods.
Apollo cleared his throat, to which Zeus turned his attention to. “Speak, boy.”
“There are other problems you should be aware of, father.”
“Yes?”
“Dionysus was found dead this morning. An acceptionally bad omen, in my eyes.”
Oh, my.
But there was no time for sentiment now. Elise needed that distraction before Hades left the room and undoubtedly saw her. There was only one plausible answer: Her friends, the stars.
As if feeling her need, three bright red ones seemed to pluck out of the sky and zoom down to the palace window, banging against it lightly and twirling around in a way that couldn't be ignored.
Elise sprang and sprinted out the doors.
Zeus glared over at th racket.
“Must have just been a cat, sir,” Havenwood interjected quickly. “The loss of Dionysus is terrible, and I, too, feel it is a bad omen.”
Zeus looked at his son. “Surely it is, but Dionysus was not of much value…”
She slowed her pace halfway through the woods, breathing heavily. Okay, now she could take in all this information.
Dionysus died!?
Apparently so. Havenwood responded softly.
She'd forgotten, for a moment, that he could hear her. Unfortunately, this meant he also knew that she'd stayed.
Um…sorry, love.
Quite alright. I’m coming home now.
Okay. She swung open the door and collapsed onto the couch.
A few minutes passed and the door opened, then Havenwood ducked inside. He took off his hoodie, which was wet with waterdroplets and sat down.
"Welcome back." Elise said softly.
Havenwood hummed. “Thanks.”
"Look, I'm sorry I stayed. I…couldn't just leave." She sighs.
He put a hand on her thigh. “That’s okay, love. I know you couldn’t help it. At least now I don’t have to tell you.”
"Yeah. Okay." She leaned into him gently.
Havenwood squeezed her thigh gently and moved up his hand to her shoulders, ruffling up her shirt in the process. He laid down next to her, though, as he moved his hand.
She smiled softly, wrapping her arms around his neck.
He kissed her nose gently, hugging her around the waist. “What now, hmm?”
"I haven't the slightest idea." She responds, grinning.
He grinned too. “Really? No idea?”
"In other words, I'll let you choose."
Havenwood huffed. “No fun. What do you wanna do?”
"No idea. Surprise me."
“Surprise you? The hell does that mean?”
"Rather self-explanatory." She grins and kisses him.
