(What are they talking about then?)
(What are they talking about then?)
(Maybe I don't know either xD Nah I know it's just you can't know everything. OOoooor she could find another way into the room…)
(Yeah, maybe…she hides in a fold of the GIANT tablecloth? And then catches up with ol' H on the way out)
(Mmmm but then there's the problem of her breaking in. She could just hide behind something, no problem.)
(She currently is.)
(no she aint. No door frame is that big)
(no she aint. No door frame is that big)
(aghhh so what'll she hide behind?)
(Yeah like you go look and find me a door that's far off the floor enough for one not to hear a conversation, but enables them to slide under it. Zeus is much smarter than that, especially since he's a cheating whore xD. I dunno, anywhere. Maybe she could confidently sidle in an be like, "Yo")
(i gotchu)
Elise takes a deep breath before opening the door with confidence, sliding into the room. She ignores their baffled faces and sits down next to Havenwood.
Havenwood was standing next to the haughty God whose name she didn't know.
"Elise! What are you doing here?" Havenwood intentionally asked the question loudly, which cut off Hera saying something.
"You can't just disappear like that." She crossed her arms defiantly.
Havenwood huffed. “Okay, I’m sorry, can you go now, please? We’re kinda busy.”
“The other Gods will be here in five minutes, Artemis,” The God next to Havenwood murmured.
"Busy with what?" She argued.
“i’LL TELL YOU LATER GO HOME!”
You better. A random dude comes to the door and you just disappear without telling me. You can't do that, love.
"Alright." She grumbled, pushing back her chair and walking out the door.
Havenwood glanced at the haughty God. He’s not just some dude, Elise. Sorry I scared you, though.
He ran his fingers gently over her arm as she passed him, then turned back to the others. “I aplogize Hera, what were you saying?”
Who is he, then? And…just, please tell me where you're going. Elise exited the room and turned a corner, leaning against the wall. She was desperate to hear what their conversation was. If there was only some sort of vent she could crawl through…
His name is Hades and he’s a very nice guy. We’re not going anywhere for a while, so just go home, Elise.
Hades…alright. Starting a bit, Elise sighed and picked herself up. Havenwood wouldn't keep secrets from her. She'd go home.
One of the massive doors opened and Apollo slipped inside, looking breathless. He disregarded the Elise shaped shadow and rushed into the dining room, leaving the door open a smidge.
Elise stopped in her tracks. He'd…left the door open?
Gee, thanks, Apollo.
She slid down on the wall next to the door, rehearsing all her old city tactics - breathe slow and quietly. Be ready to spring and run. Stay as still and small as a mouse's shadow.
“Apollo, you’re late,” Growled Zeus’ voice from a chair.
“Sorry, sir.” Apollo bowed slightly and stood next to Havenwood, who exchanged looks with Hades.
Hades gently cleared his throat. “As I was saying… there’s a massive increase of bodies down in The Underworld, I was thinking perhaps…”
“No, Hades, we’re not allowing you more room. You have plenty. Any other problems?”
“Yes sir,” Havenwood spoke up in his deep, rumbly voice. “Panacea’s been running all throughout Mt. Olympus, trying to help with sudden injury caused by these beings.”
Panacea…healing, Elise thought. She might have been wrong. But she mustn't focus on that. These…beings…whatever they were, they were important enough to hinder a meeting of the gods.
Zeus tossed his mighty head and rose out of the chair. “So she won’t be attending later tonight?”
“No, sir, she’s much too busy.”
“What about Demeter?”
“Her crops, too, are failing, and she is watching over the mortal’s carefully,” Hades replied softly.
