"Will you be OK?" Haskel asked.
"Will you be OK?" Haskel asked.
Bastian grimaced slightly at the state of the guy. He'd seen worse, hell, he'd done worse to people. He was slightly worried about the person who had said they were going to be sick though
She nodded
“We’re gonna get blamed for this if we stick around.” Kaitlin piped up, wincing slightly at the dead bodies.
"Why would we get blamed? We're just looking," Bastian pointed out
"That's why we should leave." Arvie said, finally exiting.
Bastian sighed as he walked out as well. How had getting a cup of coffee turned into running away with a group of strangers?
Kaitlin followed, “Even though we were just looking, someone could mistake that for us having just killed them.”
"Hey… um, Bastian?" Arvie calls to the tall guy behind him.
"Yep?" Bastian asked, looking up as he put his hands in his pockets
"I'm sorry we drug you into this." Arvie finished, stuffing his hands in his pockets and tapping his feet.
"Not the first time I've been dragged into this kind of thing," Bastian said with a shrug. "Once got pulled into a very weird trip around Europe that involved a drug lord's kid, a talking fish with legs, and a guy who I'm not sure has slept in the last two thousand years."
“…I….see” Aleena said
"I've had similar trips." Arvie said, noatalgically. Remembering the time he was visited by the One and shown space-time, as well as multiple ways the universe could end. (These include a giant, nigh-omnipotent fish with bat wings soaring through outer space, and a butterfly effect type trippy scenario that begins with a dog breaking wind, no joke.)
(oh man lmao)
Bastian cracked a grin. "Ayy, he gets it," he said, making finger guns in Arvie's direction before putting his hands in his pockets again
(Shiiiiiiit okay then)
Kaitlin shrugged, “I haven’t so I can’t relate to you there.”
Arvie chuckled, looking back at the shadows to see that the watchers had gone. He walked over to a back alley, to see a cop car dart past.
