(hm so I was thinking that Bel kidnaps Zion's sister or a parent, and then forces Zion to like,,, choose/make a deal that way? The whole like "if you don't, I'm going to kill them"?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(I was planning on Bel appearing in Zion's hotel room a few days later? 'n telling him basically "i have your sister/parent, and if you want them to live, then we're going to have to cut a deal"? also Bel maybe? being in his demon form? in order to intimidate Zion?)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(swag, and yup)

Bel had taken some time to solidify his plan. The signature from Zion had been enough to get him past the wards that protected the family's home, the signature of the heir bypassing their wards and safeguards. After that, it had been easy to kidnap the young man's sister from her bed, easy to put her in chains in a little cell in his dungeon. She was terrified, and she didn't even know what he was. Not yet. She thought she had been kidnapped by a strange human. She had no idea of who or what he was.

Now, all he had to do was confront Zion. He knew where the young man was staying, and so he just waited. Waited for night to come, waited for Zion to arrive at the hotel, and then he made his move. He used just a touch of magic to ensure none of the bodyguards would hear or suspect a thing, and then he appeared in Zion's room. He wasn't quite in his full demonic form, but he was visibly non-human. Dark horns poked up from his hair, a tail poked out from behind him, and a pair of shadowy wings seemed to flicker in and out of sight. His eyes had also become fully black, taken over by the iris until there was nothing else left. "Zion." his voice was a low rumble, and the room was dark enough to add to the fear that he knew would be clutching at the young man's heart.

Zion had spent the time by himself. Not doing anything outside of reading and checking the social media platforms he followed on a secret account. He’d been lounging on his bed when the phone went crazy. buzzing repeatedly. He’s just about to pick his phone up and look at it when a presence fills his hotel room.

Zion diddn’t look up, his voice filling the room, mingling with the person who spoke, “Jaqu, I-“ He imidiatly looks up when the voice that saiid his name. . . It was nothing like Jaqu’s voice. He stares at the person standing near the foot off the bed. No, not person exactly. Horns on top of his head and wings behind his back, Zion could also swear there was a tail somewhere in the minx. “Holy shit-“

Not the best words he could have chosen. While Zion was mildly scared, he wasn’t over run with terror. “So. . . You’re real? The books weren’t lying?” Zion had poured over the family records of history when he was little. He had though the ones pertaining demons had been just stories. Folk lore or something. He had always been a little fascinated by them. Then it hits him. His phone blowing up just before this guy appear was not a coincidence, was it? But he’s too transfixed by the person in front of him to look at his phone.

He was slightly confused as to why Zion was not more scared. "Of course I'm real." he replied, glaring down at the young man in front of him. "Have your parents truly failed you that badly, that they neglected to teach you that we are real?" he shifted closer, those black eyes hardly blinking. He didn't like that Zion seemed so nonchalant about this. He should be far more scared of Bel than this, and it was throwing him off.

Then he gathered himself, narrowing his eyes. "And did your parents tell you what your family has done to mine?" he asked, taking a step closer, movement slow and threatening and full of menace. "Did they tell you the blood your family home is built on?" he doubted it. Or if they had, they would have cast it as a triumph. As something perfect and to be desired and followed after, not as a tragedy in which so many had died.

Zion tilts his head, looking at Bel, something akin to appreciation was in his gaze. “That’s pretty cool. . .” He doesn’t really say anything else, his previous curiosity and confidence fading away, as it always did. He sighs, his shoulders slumping slightly. He shrugs slightly, “W-Well. . . I mean. . . I never really spent much time with my parents. . .”

“You mean what’s in the books? Well. . . I don’t know. . .” He rubs the back of his neck, “If the books are true. . . Then what happened was over six hundred years ago.” He shrugs slightly, shaking his head. He looked back to Bel, his eyes going to the other. . . Man’s? wings. He was curious about them, but of course, he couldn’t bring himself to ask.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(sorry for the wait)

Bel huffed faintly. "Six hundred and fifteen years. And what do you think happened, exactly? What have you heard?" his voice was dripping with derision, and he leaned in towards Zion. Why wasn't the other man more scared? Zion should be scared. Bel's lip curled faintly as he stared down at Zion. He wanted to see Zion's face turn white with fear, not this…curiosity. As if Bel was some interesting thing to look at, not a demon that could destroy him with one blow of his fist.

He didn't like that Zion had no fear. And not in the "no fear" that a demon hunter would display, an…almost respectful lack of fear. Zion just seemed unaware that he was in danger, in a rather obtuse way. Was this young man stupid? Bel had not pegged him as that ignorant or stupid, but perhaps he was.

Zion thinks for a long moment, getting up from the hotel bed and leans his hip against the nightstand, "I've read a lot of things. Like your family was demonic and needed to be killed, and how they would murder innocent humans or call of their sacrifice by the cultish people who followed them."

It was as Zion tilted his head, trying to get a better look at the demons wings, that he realized he should be terrified and running from the creature. Not trying to inspect it's wings with fascination. And holy shit it was an actual demon in his hotel room. He should call for Jaqu. But if it was a real demon, what could his bodyguard and best friend do, besides get hurt in trying to defend Zion? There was nothing Zion could do to keep himself safe.

Holy shit, holy shit holy shitholyshit! He stays perfectly still, though the beating of his heart speeding up was sure to give away the oncoming terror. He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath and trying to slow his heart rate down. "What I think happened? Was my ancestor snuck into your family fortress and killed your whole family out of fear. And I'm sure your whole family didn't deserve to die, but that kind of is what happens when you terrorize whole towns of people. But I'm sure you have your own side to the story, right?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

(okay uh hi hello– I did see your DM, I'm just. not good at answering people)
(Also I am so sorry for leaving you hanging for so long ;-; life has been hectic and my ability to write has been sporadic at best)

Bel stared at Zion as the young man spoke, his wings twitching faintly. His tail was curled mostly out of sight, out of Zion's line of sight. "My family was not demonic. We were demons." the last of the line. He was the last of his line now, and there was nothing that he could do about it. There really wasn't anything that he could do about it at this point, except for having children and carrying that on. But he didn't want to have a child with anyone just yet. He couldn't parent yet.

To be honest, he had not expected this kind of response from Zion. He had expected something more along the lines of fear and screaming, or of false bravado. He really wasn't sure how to handle this fearless curiosity that Zion was instead exhibiting towards him. He spread his wings a little further, casting dark shadows over the room and shading Zion, casting the smaller man into his shadow.

@RhysTheFirebird group

(You’re perfectly fine. I felt super bad about it because I looked at you profile a day or so later and saw you don’t like it. . .)

“Isn’t. . . Being a demon in the realm of demonic? Like, that’s literally what it means.” Zion mutters under his breath, his cheeks coloring in embarrassment. He looks at the floor of the hotel room, quiet for long moments. He didn’t know what to say, and if he thought of something, he’d used up his courage for he next year.

He tries to take deep breaths to slow the racing if his heart. He squeaks softly when the creature? no, person, in front of him spreads his wings, casting Zion into shadows. His eyes widen and he looks at the wings, fascinated. He then looks away, it was rude to just stare.

He clears his throat, “So, um, you’re here six hundred years later to take revenge on the mud er of your family by mine, right?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

(so, uh, i'm so sorry about this, but I think I really do have to drop this. I underestimated how busy I would be with school and work, and I just don't have time to keep up with a lot of RPs. I'm so sorry)
