Aliana stayed silent, that's what a creature of madness would do. She kept her quip to herself not wanting to make him angry.
Aliana stayed silent, that's what a creature of madness would do. She kept her quip to herself not wanting to make him angry.
"No, it's malignant magic." the man said. "It's malignant magic, bound to one form instead of being free as the other magics are."
Aliana still didn't know what this had to do with her, but she didn't want it find out.
The man smiled a little bit. "Kill the Jabberwocky, and the magic passes to the next vessel. Kill the vessel, and the magic is free."
Aliana's eyes widened at his last statement. He wanted to kill Hatta, but why hadn't he just taken him? Why go through the bother of kidnapping the most useless person in Wonderland, Aliana?
"See, that's only possible once the vessel is actually receiving the magic. Therefore…" The man trailed off, shaking his head.
Aliana shifted uncomfortably. So he needed Hatta to kill the Jabberwocky and then he would kill Hatta freeing the magic. Her mouth stayed shut not wanting to risk interrupting him.
He sighed softly, and didn't speak for a while, realizing that perhaps he shouldn't spill his entire plan.
Aliana tried to control herself from panicking. He wasn't talking anymore. What did that mean for her?
He stood, and paced the room, thinking.
Aliana's eyes followed him as he paced. She swallowed again before she asked, "What, what are you going to do with me?"
"Bait." He replied simply. "That's all."
Aliana froze slightly. She was bait. Her tongue moved uncomfortably at the realization as did the rest of her.
The man began to hum softly, pacing around the room.
Aliana watched him pace as her nervousness grew.
He paused after a moment, thinking.
Aliana swallowed again trying to steady her racing heart, where was Hatta?
Hatta was searching for her, eyes wide and a little panicked.
A townsfolk saw the panicked man and stepped up trying to be helpful, "Are you looking for something sir?"
"Ah…the girl i was with earlier. I…something happened, and I can't find her." Hatta replied quickly.
The townsfolk grew concerned at that, "She's gone missing? What did she look like? Maybe someone around town saw her."
"She's…about this tall," Hatta began, then described her as best he could, biting his lip anxiously.
The townsfolk nodded along trying to think if he saw anyone like that, "I didn't see her, but I'm sure someone did. I'll ask around for you. You just stick around okay?"
Hatta nodded. "Alright. I'm going to keep looking for her, though. Thank you."
The townsfolk nodded and walked away to ask around. He was stopping anyone who would listen and if they didn't know anything asked them to ask around as well.
