Tasper faced the lion with closed eyes. He was proud of himself for not covering his face. Well, kind of. He was paralyzed with fear anyway so he couldn't move. Baby steps, Tas. Baby steps.

Gwen grabbed the new kid and led him to where everyone else was. "Welcome to the new paladins of Voltron…maybe. It might just be Charlie."

Ranne flinched, hoping that the fledgling paladin wasn't stupid enough to run her over. She stayed still until the very last second, when she jumped behind a rock.

She peeked out from behind the rock. She probably should have kept hidden, like the mission instructor told her to, but… wasn't it better to gain the paladin's trust instead? Gathering her nerves, she stepped out. "Hello! So, who's Charlie?" Ranne asked cheerfully.

Gwen rolled her eyes. "The paladin you idiot, I just said that. Now stand still and let the lion eat you!"

Tasper looked around, stunned. "Uh. Nice," he managed, trying to keep his cool. The other kids just grinned at him. They looked excited. How were they not terrified?

Ranne winced. "Sorry! I meant, who is Charlie? It's kind of hard to identify people by their names you know," She pointed to Gwen. "You look like a Charlie,"

She shook her head. "Nah, I'm Gwen." She pointed to the pilot seat. "That's Charlie."

"Oh! Cool" Ranne said cheerfully. "Um… we're not actually going to be eaten by the lion, right?"

"Well when you get eaten by the lion you really just get to go inside the lion so…it's not that bad." Gwen shrugged.

Mitchell waved. "Hey, I'm Mitchell. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Tasper," he replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I'm Gwen. Welcome aboard." She waved.

"Hi, I'm Charlie. The blue paladin apparently," she said quickly while turning herself around in her chair to wave at the new-comers before turning back around and grabbed ahold of the levers, with more confidence in her abilities. Blue pounced forwards and circled around the bounce off the cave opening and back up into the sky.

"So, if we're doing what the last paladins did, we should just go into space." Gwen stated, slinging her backpack over her shoulder.

"Just go into space," Tasper repeated. "That simple, huh?"

Gwen shrugged. "That's what they said they did in their interview that I watched a few months ago."

"Well then… InTO SPACE WE GO!" Charlie pushed the levers up to full throttle, launching Blue farther up into the atmosphere and pressing Charlie back into her seat at the force. "WOOOOHOOO" she screaming in enjoyment as the lion lead her into and past the sky.

Gwen screamed, holding onto the side of the seat. Her mouth was open so wide she was afraid that her jaw might fall off.

Tasper screwed his eyes shut as the lion blasted into the air. It was mind numbingly fast. Nothing like the simulation. It was scary, but it was also… "This is amazing!" he whooped, holding on for dear life.
