"So? What's it say?" Asashi asked.

She slammed it down on a nearby table, swearing.

"So, was I telling the truth?" Asashi asked.

"Yes." She said through gritted teeth. She took a deep breath. Explained why her mother always watched Asashi with such intensity. She was his freakin' mom. She stood there, trying not to cry or anything stupid.

"We probably shouldn't let anyone know, it might cause problems for both of us," Asashi sighed, "I wish I could burn her face off," he muttered to himself.

Artemis glared at him. "Most definitely. not. telling. anyone. Why would she do that?!"

Asashi shrugged, "Don't ask me, I'm just as clueless as you. I always thought she'd died in that fire, and I couldn't see her clearly when I was in the arena."

Artemis clenched her fist. Her feelings running amok. "What was she like when you were with her? Before this fire?"

"She was… controlling, to say the least. And, kinda scary too. She seemed really focused on her work, research on mutants," Asashi explained, "Though, it was hard for her to find them since they were usually caught before she could get to them."

"Sounds like her." Artemis muttered. She leaned against the wall. "Who was your dad?"

"His name was Yoritaka Suzuki," Asashi looked at Artemis, "Do you recognize that name?"

"Uhhh." Artemis looked up at the ceiling still avoiding looking at Asashi. "Ma used to affectionately mention a guy name Yori. Might be the same person.
