"Like hell you're doing that. I can help, idiot."
"Like hell you're doing that. I can help, idiot."
Odin nodded, making sure his brother was holding onto his shoulder tightly before turning towards the girl. He recognized her from somewhere, but he couldn't figure out where from. "Let's just go."
"Nope, I'm staying here and I will die here to save this village."
"Ihna, I don't care if you can help, I am not letting you get hurt, now go." He turns and runs off into the heat of battle as the houses around you burn.
"Fine, suit yourself. I'm leaving." With that, Odin turned away to retreat where the rest of the village had gone.
//What now?
"I'm not leaving. Okay?"

(I don't know about you guys, but Odin is leaving)
Odin sprinted through the destroyed village. He wasn't much of a fighter, but rather a runner. His brother buried his face into Odin's hair, tears soaking the black tangled mess.
Alvilda fought bravely, taking down several warriors, but soon the smoke overwhelmed her and she was distracted enough to get cut down her back. She screamed in rage, overcame the enemy who’d hurt her, and fled the village, following Odin’s retreating form.
Odin sprinted for the cave Artvlak had mentioned, realizing that most of the village was hiding out there. His brother was sobbing as they entered the cave. His mother and sisters ran up to them as Troy slid down Odin's back and ran to hug his mother.
Alvilda stood in the entryway of the cave. She had no family to comfort. Sword at the ready, Alvilda prepared herself for (potentially) another round of defense.
Odin nodded to his mother before joining Alvilda at the front of the cave. He unsheathed his knife from his belt. He wasn't much of a fighter, but there weren't many warriors at the cave right now so he needed to help.
“You alright?” Alvilda asked Odin. He looked pretty shaken.
Odin nodded silently, watching the woods in front of them.
“‘Kay,” Alvilda said, facing the burning village again.
Odin bit his lip as he watched the village burn down. He knew that he wouldn't be any help if he went and tried to save people, and he would only get himself killed. It wasn't just about the people. His family had worked for decades creating and developing their farm, and now all of it was ruined.
