Odin sat down on the stone wall that surrounded his family farm. Farming had been a big part of his heritage for decades, and this farm had been in the family since….well….forever. He sighed, lying down on the wall and looking up at the clouds above him.
Alvilda saw Ihna go into her hut, so she followed, pushing aside the furs covering the doorway and poking her head inside. (Do they talk normally?) “Hey, Inha. Carving again?”
"I suppose so. Need anything? A healing balm, or is it something else?"
“Nope. Just came by for some company,” Alvilda smiled.
"Oh, okay." Ihna said.
"How's it been going for you lately?"
As Artvlak entered the village he looked over the heads of the excited villagers searching for Ihna but she was nowhere to be seen. He stooped in disappointment and began to make his way through the crowd of people towards his fathers house. As he neared the large house he smiled, nothing had changed from when he left The house looked identical to how he had left it and it made him feel less nervous to see his father. He opened the door and entered the house leaving the crowd behind.
"Oh, it appears our mighty warrior has returned." Ihna said, hearing a small commotion outside. She peeked out her head and saw him walking into his house.
“Okay,” Alvilda responded. “Yeah, they like to make a show of returning.”
"I should go greet him, I suppose." Ihna said, blushing slightly.
“Yeah, its the polite thing to do. I’ll stay here,” Alvilda said, clueing in slightly.
Ihna walked out and knocked on Artvlak's door.
Odin's four year old brother, Troy, ran over to him and climbed onto the wall. Odin sat up. "What do you want?" Troy poked his brother's shoulder. "I dunno. Whatcha doin'?" He shook his head. "Nothing. Go back inside." Troy didn't hear him, he was already looking off into the distance excitedly. Odin followed his brother's gaze, spotting the warrior Artvlak making his way through the crowd. He rolled his eyes, watching as Troy ran off to join them.
"Hello?" Ihna asked.
Closing the door behind him, Artvlak scanned the room he had entered. Pelts hung on the wall of bears, wolves, and other creatures. The fire was lively in the fireplace and around it sat a few chairs and a table. Several doors led out of the room but all of them were empty. Of course his father wasn't home, probably out hunting or something of the sort, couldn't even set aside time to see his own son return. Suddenly a knock on the door knocked him out of his thought. Opening the door he saw her standing there. Ihna, what was she doing here, what could she want? He felt himself turning pink.
"Hello Ihna, what can I do for you" He inquired with a shy smile.
"I was just saying hello." Ihna blushed.
"Well you can come in if you like"
"Okay." She said, walking in.
Closing the door behind her, he led her over to the chairs and offered one to her. Sitting down in the one opposite her. "So how have things been since I left."
