"Well, you DID live, and that's the important thing, right?" Astrid asked as she began running up the street.
"Well, you DID live, and that's the important thing, right?" Astrid asked as she began running up the street.
Aubrey followed Astrid, subtly checking behind them to make sure no one was following.
"Well, yes. Which is why I said almost," she clarified.
Astrid nodded, not saying anything, keeping her concentration on running.
"Duck into this alley!" Aubrey hissed, pulling the other girl with her to her left. She leaned back against the wall for a moment, taking a quick break from running. "Sorry about that, but this alleyway is usually empty."
Astrid nodded. "Understandable." She took a few deep breaths.
After a minute of catching her breath, Aubrey pushed off the wall. "Okay, you ready?"
Astrid nodded, letting Aubrey take the lead this time.
(…Where should they go…?)
Aubrey checked to make sure no one was watching before she slipped back out onto the street. She walked normally, and to anyone else, it would have looked like she was going for a leisurely stroll.
(Idk……)
Astrid followed Aubrey, taking her lead.
(Maybe… Aubrey's house?)
(Sure!)
Aubrey slowed down a bit so that she was walking beside Astrid.
"So… I'm thinking we should hide out somewhere for a bit. At least, like, a few hours or something," she suggested. "My house isn't too far from here. Maybe we could hang out there?"
Astrid nodded. "That's a good idea."
(After tonight I'm going to be at a conference for a week for the Mission with my family, so I won't be able to nor will have access to Internet in order to get on Notebook.ai just fyi)
(Cool! Have fun!)
"All right. Then we'll go there," Aubrey affirmed, nodding once. She led the way to her house, and, after a while, they stopped in front of a large, gray house that was partially stone and partially siding. Rose bushes bloomed in the front of the house, and the wide stone pathway was lined by small bushes.
(The house:
Astrid blinked. "Wow. Your house is…..really nice." Astrid stated.
Aubrey plastered a grin onto her face and sighed. "Yeah, home sweet home. Perks of having a somewhat-famous detective as a father."
Astrid nodded.
"Let's go inside, shall we?" Aubrey said, walking up to the front door.
Astrid quietly followed Aubrey.
(Gotta bounce, brb)
(Ah, okay.)
After pulling a spare key from under the mat, Aubrey unlocked the door and stepped inside. "Welcome to mi casa. That's French for 'front door'," she joked.
(Okay so apparently we have guests tonight………….nobody told me until they got here. So I'll be on when I can but probably won't be on again for a while.)
Astrid broke into a grin. "Ah, the Big Hero 6 puns." She said as she followed Aubrey inside. "Big Hero 6 is one of my favorite movies."
(Ah, well I've got church, so…)
"Same here," Aubrey agreed with a chuckle. She turned to her left and walked into the kitchen. "Hungry?"
(Okies lol)
Astrid laughed. "You know it."
Aubrey smiled and headed over to the fridge. Opening it, she checked inside and listed off everything that was in it. (But I'm too lazy to type all that, so just pretend. Lol.) "Or, we've got stuff int the cupboards. Feel free to grab whatever you want, and make yourself at home," she said.
Astrid grabbed a jar of applesauce and a jar of cottage cheese. "Thanks." She said, grabbing a spoon and sitting down. "I always hate just taking food from another persons' fridge though………….it ,makes me feel a bit rude."
