"Yeah, a self-defense class that you get that beat up in? I'm sure it won't be long," Aubrey agreed, nodding slowly. "My dad's a detective, so I'm kind of following in his footsteps… It's hard, though, when he almost catches me." She chuckled softly. "I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out, yet."
I have to go to a party rn
And I just found out that I have to sing at the party.
Wish me luck.)
(Oh, fun! I hope you do well!)
Aubrey looked at Astrid again. "Hey, we're hostages, we're not supposed to be laughing," she joked, half-smirking.
(I DID OKAY)
Astrid nodded, chuckling. "True."
(Yay!)
"But… It's nice to laugh every once in a while, isn't it?" Aubrey mused.
"It is." Astrid agreed. "You think we should find a way out of here?"
Aubrey raised an eyebrow. "Um, yes. Yes, I do," she declared. "Any open windows or anything that you can see?"
Astrid studied the room. "I see a vent." She said, pointing to it.
"Can you reach it? Maybe climb on the counter to open it?" Aubrey suggested.
Astrid nodded and stood up, hopping up on the counter.
(Gtg. Don't know when I'll be back.)
(Okies. I'm on and off rn too)
Astrid pulled the vent open.
"Be careful! Please don't fall, I don't feel like cleaning up splattered vigilante today, thanks," Aubrey declared.
Astrid snickered. "You coming or not?"
Aubrey rolled her eyes. "Well, I was waiting to see if you could actually get through. Can you?"
Astird nodded as she pulled herself into the vent.
"Okay, I guess that means it's my turn then," Aubrey said to herself as she pulled herself up onto the counter. She took a deep breath, bracing herself, before climbing in behind Astrid.
Astrid crawled through the vent easily. "So–how did you get into this Aubrey? If you don't mind me asking."
"Made a bad decision: tried to 'join' a gang to get info," Aubrey explained shortly, grunting as she moved through the vent. Why did the thing have to be so small?
"Ah, understandable." Astrid replied. She gently pushed the vent leading out of the house out and jumped down onto the lawn below.
What a drop, Aubrey thought, looking down at the ground. Eh, I've jumped off of taller things.
She jumped out, landing on her feet and bracing herself with her hands.
"Yeah, let's just say that gang leaders don't like it when you 'accidentally' spill their biggest secret to their competition," she recalled, smirking.
Astrid laughed. "Well, ya live ya learn. And you do things on 'accident'."
"Yeah," Aubrey agreed, laughing as well. "Except for the fact that I almost didn't live!"
