“alright fine then. if it was so gross come over here and plant one on me. then i’d love to know more about this girl you spent the night with” madylin said, setting down her coffee, crossing her arms, and raising an eyebrow.
paris pulled up the blankets ever closer and intertwined their legs.
Gosh this is so screwed… Jay sat up with a glare, “Well them come over and I’ll just show you.” He himself crossed his arms over his chest, watching her coolly. There was no way he wanted to kiss her, but it’d be okay if it kept his secret.
“Mmmmmhhm…” Brennan murmured, rubbing soothing circles into the small of Paris’ back.
Paris smiled and reached up and played with his hair.
"I believe my words were 'come over here' not 'im coming over there'". Madylin said arching her brow more than it was before.
Brennan leaned close to Paris when she played with his hair, but he murmured, “We should really get up…”
Jay rolled his eyes, “Come on, I’m the one with the hangover.” But he moved forward, and then made his way in front of Madylin. Gosh his head pounded… But Jay arched his eyebrows, “Are you sure?” If she’d just back down already, then he could just go along with the story that he was too drunk to think last night.
"i have a better idea" Paris said with a wicked grin, sitting up.
"Absolutley positive" Madylin said, eyebrow still raised and arms still crossed.
Brennan raised his eyebrows, unsure of where this was going, “What might this idea be?”
Jay gave her a look, leaned in an kissed her, utterly nothing romantic about it. He pulled away, scraping at his tongue and frowning at her. But now she just has to believe me. Jay still debated if kissing her was worth proving a lie, but… it be better if he didn’t wreck things with Brennan. It’d be better if no one ever knew why he got drunk at every party.
Paris giggled and leaned over him, hesitating at first, but leaning all the way down and planting her lips on his.
"You're gay." Madylin said, sitting back onto the bed, arms behind her.
Brennan smiled into the kiss, then deepened it with a moan. He wasn’t being anything close to responsible, in fact, Jay was probably already awake by now, but… Gosh Brennan loved her.
“I am not!” Jay exclaimed, frowning at her. It was like little alerts kept going off in his head, tellling him all the reasons how he f—ked this up. This is dangerous territory. “Why on earth would you say I’m gay? Just because I was too drunk to tell that Brennan was a guy last night doesn’t make me gay.” The words came out sharper than he meant them to, but gosh… if they had really found out…
"Look i've met plenty of gay guys in my life. Paris' dads being a couple. and ive met gay teenage guys. you're on the defence a little much. but dont worry, i wont tell anyone. except Paris. shes my best friend. but she wont tell anyone, especially Brennan. until youre ready." Madylin said, a genuine smile on her face.
Paris moved around, and brought one leg over him; essentially straddling him, as they kissed.
Jay turned slightly red, muttering, “I don’t know why you’re so set on me being gay…” But his secret was exposed. It was over. Jay stared at the floor. Maybe he could party and drink the embarrassment away. Maybe he could find somewhere else to stay, get a room away from Brennan.
Brennan kissed her deeply, running his hands through her soft hair that he adored so much. He quietly murmured, “Let’s not go too far, alright…”
"Didnt plan on it" Paris whispered "but i had to get a better angle." she leaned back forward and kissed him again.
"because its true. you told me yourself last night. but i can keep a secret if thats what youre worried about. im not going to do anything you dont want me to Jay. i've got your back" Madylin said, standing up and wrapping her arms around Jay.
Brennan laughed into the kiss, then deepened it. His tongue flicked at her bottom lip in silent question.
Jay stiffened at the hug. It felt so foreign. When was the last time someone hugged me like this? It took his a second to relax, then suddenly he didn’t want it to stop. Just that small comfort… He didn’t realize his was crying until a tear fell onto his hand. Jay closed his eyes and whispered, “Madylin, I’m a freak.”
(casually has tears in eyes ready to cry for Jay)
“Jay you’re not a freak. you’re a beautiful person and anyone that doesn’t agree, pardon my french, is a dumbass” madylin said into his chest, him being taller than her.
Paris granted him access and brought both of his hands to his hair, tangling her fingers in his hair.
Despite Jay crying, he smiled a little. His grip tightened slightly around Madylin, as if in fear of her disappearing as he whispered, “I go to those parties and get drunk because I want to forget about it. Because people there won’t care because they’re too drunk to look disgusted.”
“Mmmmhhhmmm,” Brennan moaned, savoring how she touched his hair like that and how they kissed. I love her…
"Jay, those people dont matter. theyre all jealous fools who dont know you. you're a human. you're allowed to make your own life choices. they cant change that. they shouldnt affect it in anyway." Madylin said, hugging him tighter, trying to reassure her.
Paris teased his hair and smiled. she loved how she felt, she loved that he felt the same way, maybe she loved him. she knew it, and she knew there was no changing that.
“You promise you’ll keep it a secret?” Jay whispered. She didn’t know how much those words meant to him. How nice it felt to be accepted. How much he wanted to be able to talk about crushes and guys and what he felt with someone.
Brennan smiled back at her, deepening their kiss. This was perfect.
Madylin smiles, “swear it on my life.”
One of Paris’ hands leave his hair and run up and down his chest and stomach, taking it all in.
“I really want a boyfriend,” Jay confessed, letting out a breath and flopping back on the bed. He’d never been able to say the words out loud before. He kept going, this time he wasn’t filtered with lies, “One time I met a guy… He didn’t love me, he just wanted to… experiment. I was too drunk stupid to see. And I just… I want something real. But how do you find someone when you’re stuck in the closet?” Jay stared at the ceiling, sighing. Maybe this was the time Madylin would go run off and gossip about it. Maybe this would be when he feels betrayal.
Brennan let out a throaty purr into their kiss, tongue dancing between them.
“come out of the closet? maybe not a bunch of people all at once, but a few at a time.” Madylin said shrugging. she plopped down on the bed beside him but sitting up still.
Paris’ tongue fought for dominance a few times but eventually gave up, hand still in his hair.
“I can’t come out of the closet, that would be absurd,” Jay replied, shifting to lay on his side and face Madylin.
Brennan continued waving his hands through Paris’ hair, but finally pulled away to say, “We really should check on Jay and Madylin.”
"No it wouldnt. its logical. its the next step." Madylin said.
Paris groaned but reluctently got up and ran her hands through her hair, trying to tame it.
“I just- people won’t like me. What would the point be if it just turns people away?” Jay said quietly, “Unless it’s a gay party or something, I don’t think it would be ‘logical’.”
Brennan stood and stretched, combing his hair with his hands and smoothing his shirt, then asked with a laugh, “Do I look somewhat presentable?”
“if they push you away for your opinions and beliefs are they really your friends?” Madylin said leaning back in her hands.
Paris snorted then shook away her thoughts. “you look like you just woke up” she said reaching in a drawer to pull out a bright coral sundress she went to the bathroom and quickly changed.
“No, but I have no one else. It’s not like you could set me up with a date or something, there’s just no where to turn.” Jay laid back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling and sighing. I’m so lost…
Brennan rolled his eyes, but frantically smoothed out his shirt more and combed his hair with his hands again when Paris disappeared to change.
Paris slipped off her shirt and slid the dress over her head and down her body. she kicked off her shorts and carried the clothes out to the hamperer and walked out to see brennan fixing his hair.
"would you please stop that." she said with a laugh.
"No, but i can work on it." Madylin promised and mentally made a note to keep her eye out.
