Max is sitting at one of the lunch tables, it is lunchtime. He extends his arms upwards and yawns, stretching. His girlfriend, Tessa and her best friend Dove are sitting next to him as well. He's feeling a bit awkward at the moment, he doesn't want Dove to feel like a third wheel, he's experienced that before, before he started dating Tessa, but he doesn't know how to do so. "So," he begins awkwardly. "How is everyone today?" Max asks, mostly asking Tessa, but trying to include Dove.

Dove gave Maxwell a small smile. "My day was great " Tessa said "I rocked cheer and Aced my biology exam and now I'm here with my beloved and handsome boyfriend and my bestfriend" she finished Dove quietly and mentally gagged Dove just sat there moving her fruit around with her fork.
"Aww, how sweet of my Tess to say such a thing!" Max replied, smiling widely at Tessa. In the moment, he had briefly forgotten about Dove, and immediately after he regretted his actions. "Well…" he started, still feeling very awkward. "Anything new happen?"
"Well I-" Dove started but was cut off by her best friend "Dove was at Basketball practice and My brother accidentaily hit her in the face with a ball causing her to get a bloody nose but he rushed to her side cleaning up. Dove slowly lifted her head showing a swollen left eye and a bruise under her right eye.
Max looked up suddenly from his food and gasped. "Oh. My. Lord. Tess, is she going to be okay?" he exclaimed, sucking in his breath, hugging himself tightly. Don't think, don't think he thought to himself ironically. Hah, I'm thinking right now… He couldn't have a panic attack now. Deep breaths in and out; in one two, out one two… He glanced up at Dove and regretted his choice immediately. Closing his eyes briefly, he chose to look at Tessa instead.
"Calm down it's dove " Tessa said "it's not like I got hurt" she finished . "Max I'm fine just breath please" Dove said her voice shaking with fear. It always did when Maxwell got like this "it was just a bloody nose" she said.
Max sucked in his breath again. "Alright, but your face though," he protested. "Shouldn't we at least take you to the nurse?"
"I'm Fine" Dove said. She layed her hand on top of his in a friendly way "thank you for caring" she said . Tessa slowly eyed thier hands as Dove let go.
Max tensed up at the contact, and glanced at Tessa awkwardly. "Um… your welcome?" his statement turned out to be a question, and suddenly he felt the need to run, run somewhere away from here. But that wouldn't be fair to Tess, he thought, so he stayed put, his whole body rigid.
Tessa's Brother Henry walked over and sat down "Dove are you okay?" he asked "I'm sorry" he finished "I'm fine" Dove said. Henry sighed a breath of relief and kissed her cheek before leaving. Dove's face and ears were bright red. "does someone have a crush" Tessa asked . Dove's eyes widened, "WHAT? NO? " she yelled.
