Name: Felix Alistair Blackwood
Age: 25
Appearance/ Faceclaim: This guy (no clue who he is sorry). About six feet tall, slim, and well-muscled. Has scars scattered around his body. A few tattoos as well. Also a navel piercing
Personality: Bit of a flirt. Very intelligent, and quick-witted. Fearless, as well, not seeming to be afraid of anything, except perhaps being caught and tortured, as that's what happens to pirates. Capture, imprisonment, and torture, followed by hanging if they're lucky, a slow death if they aren't. Most at home on the high seas on his ship, the Snapdragon (don't ask, he didn't name it), not on land. On land he tends to be far more on guard, but still knows how to have a good time.
Etc?: Backstory will come out more in RP
(He alright?)
He's fine, should I start, or would you be okay with it? I really like him!
Alright! Thanks! Idc who starts
Elias woke up to what he thought was the next day, "God, I must have really slept in late this time." But the smell of smoke burning and the sound of people screaming told him otherwise. He hurried over to his balcony and poked his head out the open doors, his jaw-dropping, "Oh gods, I am simply going to die. . ." He muttered to himself groggily. He grabbed a candle and began to head out of his room as quietly as possible. He was hoping that the pirates hadn't made it to the manor yet, but they were pretty close to the port. He clutched the candle tightly hoping that everything would be all right, but deep down knowing that it probably would not be and that nothing would be the same again. He took a few silent steps down the steep staircase, but then drew in a deep breath when he heard the front door being broken down. He hoped that he could make it out before the men made to this side of the house, and he quickly ran down the rest of the stairs, colliding into another man. His candle was knocked out of his hand and onto the ground, being put out almost immediately. Elias backed away from the man cautiously, noting how the other man was towering over him, "I-I. . .uhm, excuse me?" He hoped that maybe good manners could be put to use for once, but he doubted it. The sneer of the other man seemed to tell him that. And before he knew it, the gun the man was carrying was being pointed at his back, "I. . .I. . .er, c-could you please put that away?" He stammered, feeling the muzzle of the gun rubbing against his back, "P-please?" He knew tht good manners probably wouldn't have any effects on the man, but he didn't want to die. Although he figured that the man would just kill him and take whatever he pleased from his home, Another body wouldn't bother them too much, now would it?
Felix cocked his head a little bit. "Nah, I don't think I will." he jabbed the muzzle in just a little harder, just to feel the rich boy jump. He didn't want to shoot Elias, as he wanted to take him for ransom, but Felix would shoot him if he had to. "Now, you're coming with me. Start moving, or I'll be forced to shoot you, and I'd really rather not have to do that." his voice still carried the hint of his upper class accent. He couldn't be rid of it no matter how he tried, so he just did his best to mask it. And in that, he had succeeded, taking on the slightly rougher, sing-song accent that many seafarers seemed to develop.
((Oof, sorry, I fell asleep))
Elias started to walk a bit, then stopped in his tracks when he realized where he would have to go, "I. . .uhm." He began, not wanting to move at all, "Could there be a way around this? Maybe paying you a large sum of money or something of that nature?" He looked back towards the man in hopes that something that he had offered had gotten through to him, but it seemed like nothing had, and that the man looked a bit angrier than before, "Oh, I'll continue to walk then." He muttered as the man began to jab the gun at him again. As they walked through the town Elias tried to ignore the dead bodies filling the streets, but as they neared the ship Elias' fear grew, and again he balked. This time not saying anything, just staring at the ship, his eyes widened in fear of the ship and what could happen aboard. Just thinking about that made him break out into a cold sweat, 'What if the ship began to sink? What if he fell overboard? Or something equally as bad.' Just the thought of being surrounded by water with no land in sight terrified him. He felt his knees go weak and as he tried to take another step closer. But it was no use, his knees buckled and he felt himself falling and landing on his rump. 'Great.' He thought to himself, 'I might as well take the gun and use it on myself.'
(it's fine!)
Felix arched an eyebrow as his captive fell to the ground, and bent over him. "Get up." he growled. "Or I'll make you." his green eyes flashed around for a moment before returning to Elias. Hurry up. He knew that the more he stalled, the more the danger grew that the soldiers would be deployed, and like hell was he going to be captured and killed. "Move." he said, jabbing Elias with the mouth of the pistol. He wore a tricorn hat plopped almost lazily on his head, his clothes weather stained.
((Oof, sorry, here again!)
"I am not getting on your boat." Elias muttered quietly, "And if you get caught even better." But the thought of being killed in such a way, especially in public did not sit well with him, and he began to get up, just to annoy the man more he moved much more slowly than usual. His knees still felt weak, but the threat of the gun was much worse and much more pressing the idea of the boat, and the ocean. He closed his eyes as he walked onto the ship. He feared the gangplank would give out under him and he would somehow fall to his death, but surprisingly to him, he somehow survived it. He felt the gun taken away the second he stepped foot on the ship, and he turned to look at the captain, the man looked terrifying, even with his somewhat lazy appearance, Elias was still terrified of him and wanted nothing to go back home and curl up in his bed. He fidgeted a bit with his nightshirt as he heard the man, who he assumed to be the captain of the ship, bark out orders left and right to his crew. He started to edge away moving closer and closer to the gangplank in hopes that no one would notice his departure. He prayed a silent prayer in hopes that he would be able to escape as he inched closer to the plank of wood.
(it's fine!)
Felix noticed the captive's movements, and grabbed his arm. "Come with me." he growled, leading Elias into the belly of the ship, pushing him into the brig and locking the door, looking through the bars at the young man. "You'll get food later, if you need it. Bucket is over there if you need to go to the bathroom." he said simply, crossing his arms, cocking his head a little bit. The brig wasn't bad; there was a bed bolted to the wall, with two blankets and a pillow, along with a tiny porthole to look outside.
Elias cursed softly under his breath as he felt his chances of escaping slip away. He glared at the man before looking away, he felt no different than he did back at the manor, except here you drown and die, he shuddered thinking about that. But in a way, it was the same, he still felt trapped, but at least at home, he had books to read, and there was the staff. He turned his back completely away from the other man, "If you do not mind, I would like to be alone for a bit." Being alone would be so much better than having the person who took you out from your home and onto a ship around. He waited to hear the man's footsteps or a reply, but yet there was none, "I can say please if that makes things better." Elias grumbled, still not facing the man. If that man expected him to stay here for more than twenty-four hours, he must be out of his mind. 'A book would be nice, ' he thought as he waited for the man to leave and just let him be.
Felix let out a faint laugh, and walked away, leaving Elias alone in the semi-dark. The only light came from a lantern hanging on the wall, casting flickering, yellow light over the wood that made up the ship. Felix went back on deck, yelling out orders to his crew. Soon they were underway again, the pirate crew laughing as they talked amongst each other of the spoils they had managed to snare in the time they were in the town. As they pulled away and out to see, they could still see the flames as the town burned, could hear the bells clanging their klaxon alarm.
Elias sat down on the bed and sighed softly, not really wanting anyone to hear him, although he highly doubted anyone would, or would even care. He leaned back against the wall and tried to tune out the loud bells. he was worried about the port and people who lived there. Although he didn't care for the location of the town, he had grown to love the people who lived there. They were so kind and friendly to him, no matter rude his father could be to them, he just hoped that they were all safe and that the fires would be put out soon. As the ship exited the port all of Elias' fears from earlier came back and he found himself shivering in fear and sheer terror. But after an hour or so of smooth sailing, he felt a bit less scared, and a lot less worried that somehow the ship would just begin to sink, it seemed pretty well made. He laid down on his side and pulled the blanket around him, it was thin, but it was better than nothing. He tried to sleep, but none would come so he just lay on the bed, waiting for sleep to finally come.
Felix relaxed when there was no pursuit from the harbor, and he set some of the crew on a night watch, before heading to his cabin. He plopped down on his bed, looking up at the ceiling as the ship rocked back and forth slowly, creaking gently as the wind bore them further and further from the town. In reality, the town wasn't badly damaged, not at all.
(Okay, I feel as though we should time-skip at this point, I don't know exactly where they could go from here.)
(yeah that's what I was assuming would happen)
(If you want, I can start)
(okay)
It was early in the morning when Elias woke up, he had been having terrible dreams all connecting back to the ocean, and that just made him feel worse. He sat up on the bed and wrapped the blanket around him. He was glad that it was silent, so he could think things through, "I doubt I'll be able to get out anytime soon, so perhaps I can trick them into thinking that I'll just do whatever, maybe even join them?" He murmured his thoughts to himself just trying to think of some way out. He hated to admit it, but he sort of missed his father, even how controlling he was. How he would give anything to get back home. He turned to the wall and began to scratch out some basic ideas with his thumbnail, "perhaps this could work, or even lead to that?" he muttered as he set to work on his elaborate plan.
Felix awoke with the sun, getting dressed and coming out on deck. The sails were adjusted for the wind, and they slowed. Out in the open ocean now, they had nothing to fear. Finding them would be like finding a needle in a haystack, so now they turned to divvying up the spoils from the raid on the town. Felix put the first mate in charge of that, and headed down to the brig to speak to their captive. "So. You're the Andres' boy, yes?"
Elias jumped and turned to cover the wall that he had been writing on, he bit his tongue to keep himself from saying that he was just one of their servants, but that might just lead to death, "I. . .I er, am him." He stammered, still not looking the man in the eyes, "And you must be the captain of this vessel?" He questioned as he leaned back against the wall, he didn't need to see the plans at all, Elias's plan couldn't be figured out this soon. He pulled the blanket closer around him, "Now, uh, could you just leave me be?" He really didn't want him around just yet, not until his escape plan was perfect.
Felix leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. His sword hung by his side, two pistols also hanging from his belt. "I am." he replied, studying Elias. "How much do your think your father'll pay for your return?" he asked, arching his eyebrows at the other man. "And don't lie to me. I don't want to have to throw you overboard, but I will if I have to."
"I-I do not know, maybe a good sum of money, if he's not feeling stingy, or if he wants his heir back a good sum of money." He shrugged a little, "Who would go this far to lie for another man? They would be pretty foolish to go through something like this, knowing that if something goes wrong, they could be killed on the spot." He yawned quietly and glared at the man, pulling the thin blanket tighter around his shoulders. "Do you not have people to attend to? If you do, perhaps you should be wasting your time trying to speak to me and work with your men, after all, there must be more interesting things above deck rather than below."
Felix arched an eyebrow slightly. "How much? And my men have no need of me right now, unless you'd rather have one of them interrogate you. And I assure you, my crew has far less manners than I." he cocked his head just a little bit, a piercing shining in one ear as he looked at Elias. "Now, what is your full name, just so there is no confusion between us?"
