You are cordially invited
Character A is from a wealthy merchant family that is down on their luck. Loosing money quickly due to a horrible contract that had the family at a loss for their money and scampering to keep their higher status, they take advantage of the chance to marry their child off into a new family.
to the union of two hearts
Character B is the fist born child to the large lordship that presides over the ports and farms, the fiefdom called Stalright. They’re the heir to the family and are looking for a husband/wife, so they hold parties, to get to know the available people for the role.
in the bond
Character A does not want to get married, and especially to the tyrant their parents have set their eyes on. The young lordling of the fiefdom. Character A is preferring to become a sailer, to work on their parents ships and eventually become the head of the family. But with the money declining, the family is getting restless.
of matrimony.
Character B is called a tyrant. But they aren;t not really. What people see as them being a tryrant, is them with just some anger issues. And maybe a little tyrannical. They do think that those who commit treason should be sent to death. Those who break the laws should be punished severely.

Cassius was not happy. Despite how much he loved parties and music, this was not a party he wanted to be at. His parents had thought it would be a wonderful idea for him to get married. To keep their wealth and high status. Cass didn’t know what to think of that, it was his father's own damn fault that he’d lost most of their fortune and he decided to use his only son to get more money.
So that put Cass here, at his own stupid engagement party, and he was not having any fun. Really he would rather slam his head into the nearby wall than meet the lordling he was supposed to marry. The arrogant tyrant that ruled over them all. He shakes his head, swirling his glass of wine and looking into the deep ruby red liquid. It looked like blood, really.
He sighed and kept the slight smile on his face, pretending, and being very damn good at it, that he was pleased with he engagement. That he was happy his family was able to reimburse their coffers
(Okie dokie)

(Lord Bishop?I must say I chuckled at that slightly. Cassius and Bishop it is :)

Bishop sat in a chair, a glass in his hand with a brown potent liquor inside. He took a swig of it and he made small talk with the occasional person that walked up to him. He didn't have a problem with being there, free liquor, hot guests. What's not to like? There was his fiance, but that man was a stick in the mud, no fun at all especially at this party, he wasn't fooling anyone, he was visually upset that he was here, that this party was even happening, the whole engagement all together, to Bishop it didn't really matter, a party is a party, and the engagement wasn't a big deal he didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
(Lol pretty boy Cass wouldn't like that train of thought, I'll reply to this soon)
(Lmao then I was spot on with my reply, just take your time I'm in no rush.)
Cass was silent for long moments before he looked up at the crowd of people, his eyes sliding over their faces. He heaves a heavy sigh and walks around the edge of the dance floor, looking for his husband-to-be. Cass hugs the wall, feeling bored. Incredibly bored. What he would give to be down at the docks, playing cards with the sailors, or hell, getting hired by a captain. All he'd wanted was to be a sailor.
But now, he was locked into wedlock and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it. He will never sail and he'll be stuck on the fucking continent and at Bishops every beck and call. He rolls his eyes, Cass wouldn't get to see the world.
Bishop noticed his fiancé and gave an almost villainous grin before waving him over "oh dear, Cassius, won't you come and sit with your future husband? I would greatly appreciate it." He was being a jackass of course but he lathered his words in a sickeningly sweet syrup as he spoke them he is smile never faltering as he looked at his fiancé. Of course he had to uphold his reputation and at least make this marriage look good in on paper, truthfully he'd much rather be seducing one of the more fun attractive people at this party but the poor lad was working with a brand new ball and chain that certainty wouldn't let him bed, let alone think lustful thoughts, what a tease he was, looking as good as he did right now and not even knowing it..
Cassius sighs softly, looking at Bishop for a long moment. He debated not going over, but he could feel his mother’s stare on the back of his head. He closes his eyes, a light brown color, gold in some lighting. He walks over and smiles slightly, “My darling lord, Bishop.” He murmurs, his tone sarcastic.
He moves over and stands beside the man, tilting his head. “What do you want?” He mutters, placing a hand on his hip and looking at the other man.
“I have other, more important things to do. Like, you know, enjoy a party.” He takes a long drink from the glass of wine he was holding. He wasn’t feeling remotely buzzed, and that was not good, especially if he had to deal with Bishop. He then drain the glass and set it on a passing tray while grabbing another one. “Or do you want to defeat the purpose of a party and have me be bored?”
"Oh hush now, we both know your already not enjoying this party Cassius, now behave yourself, wouldn't want your mother to blow a fuse in front of all these people would you?" He asked with a smile before leaning his head against the back of his hand. "Sit down drink so more and stop being so damn bitchy, I know it's your thing and all… But could you act a bit more professional? " he had a slight Snarkiness behind his last sentence as he glared up at his fiancé.
Cass scowled at Bishop. Dammit, what Cass wouldn’t do to be at the docks where the real parties were. None of this sophisticated bullshit where polite words meant venomous things. He looks away, standing still for long moments. “I’d be having more fun if you could shut your trap and stop yapping like a needy little puppy.”
He slides his gaze back to Bishop, raising an eyebrow at the man, “I’m not a ‘bitchy’ person. You don’t even really know me. Normally, I’m a fun guy.” He grins slightly and then starts to walk away, a plan to ditch this stupid place already forming in his head. His mother could fucking deal. She didn’t own him. She and Father were lucky he’d even agreed to this damn marriage.
(Sorry with school starting I've been busy a d this is so short but here's you go!)
Bishop roles his eyes with a slight smile, it was so easy to upset this boy. " oh yes why don't you leave- is that what you plan to do our whole marriage, dear? That deeply upsetting for me to hear Cassius, I thought better of you. '
