(See ya soon)
"I am pretty annoying," Cal agreed, chuckling lightly as he continued to face Marya. "I wish we could do this all the time." He sighed, and wrapped his arms around Marya's waist, pulling her closer. It was perfect. He almost forgot everything that he needed to do.
(back for like, one second)
Marya hadn't even known she was holding her breath until now. She pressed her lips to whatever she could that was Cal. His nose, his forehead, his cheek, his neck.
Cal sighed and leaned down, pressing soft kisses against Marya's jaw line as his hands continued to run through her dirty blond hair.
"You have no idea how hard this is for me. Letting my normal rough facade fade away. Letting myself love you. Letting you kiss me." Marya got under the covers of the cot, the blood on her overalls staining the sheets.
"Is it too much?" Cal asked softly, stopping and looking up as he pulled away slightly.
"It's. . . perfect. I like this. I want this. I'm just. . . not used to it." Marya cupped his chin in her hand.
Cal nodded in understanding, tucking a strand of Marya's hair behind her ear. "I think it's perfect too, Little Wolf. I love you."' He murmured, pressing his lips against hers harder than the last time.
She accepted the kiss, kissing back and wanting the moment to last forever. Marya broke the kiss, needing a moment to breath. "It's almost nighttime. Go to sleep?" she suggested, wrapping her arms around Cal and hugging him tightly.
Cal nodded and pushed himself closer to Marya, his messy hair falling across his eyes. He leaned into her embrace, closing his eyes as his breathing slowed.
She flicked off the light next to them and buried her head into the pillow, starting to drift off and feel warmer than usual. Cal's body heat. Warming mine.
( Time for a memory! xD )
As Cal slipped into sleep, he mumbled incoherently as he began to dream of an old memory.
It was the first time that he had met Marya.
Cal was an orphan, dejected from most people since he was the son of Eros. It was a warm day, the same signs were hung around, warning people to report any fairytale or mythical creatures at once. Cal shook his head, nearing a marketplace as he looked through the stands. One of the only ways he got some food was by stealing, but usually by flirting with the girls around the village. A simple grin or compliment could even earn him some money.
He decided to try his luck and reached a girl with long, dirty blond hair, a dangerous glare resting on her face.
"Hey. . ." Cal said, flashing a crooked grin as he neared her.
( Do you want to do Marya's parts?)
(yea!)
Marya turned, hands folded across her chest. "Why are you talking to me?" this boy, with the frighteningly blue eyes, he was talking to her. Her ears twitched and her tail started to wag. No, stop, it's not a fucking friend. She grabbed an apple from the apple stand next to her and eyed the boy suspiciously.
Cal shrugged and glanced at the girl's ears, but looked down to meet her gaze again. "Just wanted to meet someone, I suppose." He explained. "What's your name?"
"What's yours?" there were too many stories of being robbed in the marketplace. Marya took another bite of her apple, exposing sharp teeth.
This girl already kind of scared him, but he liked the way that she didn't give into his flirting right away. Smart. . . "Cal Carose, and you?"
"You shouldn't give away your name so easily." Marya avoided the question. She took a bite of her apple, the juice dribbling down her cheek. She touched the hilt of the axe on her belt as dramatically as she could, drawing the boy's attention to it.
"Doesn't matter what my name is. I'm not important." Cal said flatly, glancing at her axe, but ignoring it. She was trying to scare him. It wouldn't work. He had gone through much worse than an axe.
"You could be. I bet I've heard it before. You don't seem like the type who lives here, if y'know what I mean." she leaned in, whispering, "Fairytale character?"
(If you'd caught Marya at age 5, you would've gotten a totally different person)
"We won't tell Nimue just yet," Cal smiled, turning to rest on his side as he ran a hand through Marya's long hair. He pressed another soft kiss to her lips. "I love you too." He was almost surprised that Marya loved him. All these years, he had had a crush on her, but he never thought that she would like him back.
//ok u won’t but like ur pretty obvious xD
Kirin wandered through the halls, avoiding people. What are you even doing here anymore, Abendrot? Seeing a nearby window, he walked towards it and looked out. It wasn’t so far to the ground. He could just get out through here.
“Kirin?” A voice interrupted his thoughts. Nimue.
“Oh. Hey,” he said, turning around and feeling awkward. It wasn’t like he was supposed to be here.
“Where’s Marya?” She said, suspicion in her narrowed eyes. It almost hurt.
“Making out with Cal, probably,” he said, glancing to the side.
“Oh.”
She seemed to be lost as to what to say next. He smiled crookedly and mock-saluted her. “See you around, Nimue.”
That said, he turned around and hopped out the window, ignoring her eyes burning holes in his back.
"You could be. I bet I've heard it before. You don't seem like the type who lives here, if y'know what I mean." she leaned in, whispering, "Fairytale character?"
(If you'd caught Marya at age 5, you would've gotten a totally different person)
Cal nodded and glanced around, "Let's talk somewhere else. . ." He said quietly as he led Marya towards a quieter part of the town. His dream faded away as he opened his eyes to warm, morning sunlight. He closed them again and leaned against Marya, wondering where Nimue might be.
Marya was still asleep, snoring louder than humanly possible.
Cal pressed a kiss to Marya's forehead and nudged her gently. "Hi Little Wolf. . ." He said softly. They needed to check on Nimue, Ailith, Marcus and all the fairytale creatures. Now that the king was dead, they could do so much.
She sighed as he disappeared and headed towards infirmary. “Hey, lovebirds,” she smirked at them, leaning against the wall. It was forced, but genuinely happy for Marya at the same time.
( Oh hey what did I miss?)
