Sol pushed the finger off her chest, crossing her arms defensively. “It does not matter what we can do individually if we cannot work as a team. The enemy has trained for this. We have not.” she said, eyes guarded. She would not let the other girl take advantage of what feelings she was showing through her eyes.
Fallon sighed, quickly losing interest in her half-a-pep-talk attempt. She reached down, puling her flask from her boot, and took a swig. "Isn't the best way to learn that kind of thing in an actual life or death situation? You can sim all you want, but, y'know."
“I’d rather have some perpetration than none at all,” Sol said, her voice even. She eyed the flask warily. Drinking before a big mission? Sol just hoped she wasn’t drunk off her ass on the battlefield.
Atlas watches the interaction. Great. This is the worst possible group I could be put with. Atlas clears his throat. "Alright that's enough. We need to work as a team to do this. Otherwise I can call a solo mission or call a retreat. And none of us are getting out of here. There is no way we can shut this gate if people are arguing. So suck it up." He growls. "We need to get this shit done. So let's get moving."
"Lead the way, cap'n." Fallon raised her flask in a mock toast, grinning before taking another drink. "We're right with ya." She was aware that she should probably shut up, and just do as told, but where was the fun in that? This team seemed pretty up tight, so somebody had to 'break the ice'.
God, she is annoying. "I have to work with her?" Melanie gestured towards Fallon. "I'd honestly ride solo than be put in a group…" Melanie complained but knew it was better for there to be a group than there to not be.
Wow, ok. Getting straight to the point finally. It's kinda hot. Flame thought to himself, proud that he was able to hide the hint of his blush. "So this is happening now?" He asked to clarify, not knowing they were going to jump into battle the second they came.
Sol chose to stay silent, watching the group interaction with interest. She was storing information about each of them in the back of her mind in case of an emergency. Atlas gets right to the point. Fallon is relaxed. Melanie likes to work alone.
Atlas nods towards them. "We head out in ten minutes. Grab any weapons you might wanna bring along. Meet me at bay 16. Don't be late. That's it." he says, placing the holographic map on the table and turning if off before placing it in his pocket.
Flame pulled out his whip from his bag and shrank it so it could stay in his pocket. He closed his robe knowing that he was going to go outside but he didn't know if it was going to be cold. He headed to the area and waited.
Fallon hummed an upbeat tune as she sauntered to the bay, occasionally pausing her humming to take another drink. If she was going to have to jump straight into this, with teammates that were already giving her dirty looks, she was not going to do it sober.
Sol patted down her armor, making sure her chakrams were there along with her other weapons. Her twin chakrams, Jade and Jara, wouldn't last her whole lifetime, so she needed backups. Walking to the bay, she kept her hands on them. Although still sheathed, they could still give off the deadly vibe Sol wanted them to.
