The quiet was eerie to the mage, who liked things loud and wild. She shivered slightly. "This is the Research Station? Doesn't look like much."

Upon arriving at the lab door, Chris used his fingerprint to open the passcode system. He then typed something into the system which was too fast to see and too complex to remember. The door then opened up.
”Alright, good luck with what you wanna do. I’mma head back inside now” Chris said, stepping to the side to allow Kye out.

Kye nodded to Chris and stepped back out of the building. Then he turned to look at Chris one more time. "Thank you again," he said before turning to leave.

The doctor scooted closer to Hinata on his office-like chair and handed her the documents. The documents showed a picture that looked like the attacker from earlier along side some information about him.
”His name’s Kaito Yumeka, AKA ‘Dream Eater’. He’s infamous for the mass murdering that happened in twenty different realms seven years ago, you might have remembered that. He’s a class S criminal, meaning he’s definitely strong and is smarter than he looks. He’s a dangerous foe” the doctor explained.
The notes also mentioned that the man came from a realm named Mezias, the same realm Matthew said he was from.

When the spell was casted, the strings disappeared and the hallway went quiet. This was probably the ideal time to leave that specific hallway before anyone else comes by.

”Something’s wrong here…” Matthew said as he walked into the building. He closed his eyes to try to locate somethings in the building.
”Adara, you can come in… but I feel like there’s someone unwanted around here…” he said with a small inviting wave inside.

”The pleasure is mine” Chris said as he closed that door. It helped that the Research Building had four entrances/exits so Kye could perhaps explore more of what he was interested in.
He would, though, spot a figure who looked quite… questionable in the near distance. They had a bloodstained cloak on and was walking abnormally slow.

(Approach the figure?)

Jade ran out of that hall hoping it would be over soon WHAT IS THIS PLACE her mind was racing as was she through the halls but she kept an eye out for familiar faces and people, allies possibly

Hinata looked over the papers, lips pursing slightly.
"I remember." She'd actually looked into the murders a few times, but left the actual investigation to the officials. She tilted her head a bit when she saw where the man was from.
"No wonder why I underestimated him," she mumbled under her breath.

Kye spotted the figure and froze. He studied the figure for a moment before he picked out the bloodstained cloak.
You're gonna go over there aren't you.

Please at least refrain from aggravating this person.

He started moving towards the figure.

"There would be," she muttered, her knife sliding into her palm with a neat movement. "Just my luck." She followed him into the building, listening to the eerie, unearthly silence.

As Jade left the hallway scattered with corpses, she would come across a purple hallway. It looked quite beautiful as it was decorated with golden furniture and dark violet carpets.
As for now, this hallway seemed safe.

(Yes…? I brought him in here for three reasons, all of which will be answered later on but yes, it’s the same person as that weak boi from that roleplay)

The doctor leaned on his chair and sighed.
”Mezias produce some interest people, don’t you think? I don’t wanna say that it’s necessarily a bad thing but it’s just that not everyone becomes a good person even if they’re from a Saint realm, right?” the doctor gave out the idea as someone knocked on the door.
The doctor gave a confused look as to who it was but stood up and headed towards the door anyways.

(Let the doctor open the door?)

As Kye got closer, he will start to spot the features of the person; silvery hair, sharp, glittering garnet-colored eyes, and a slight grin which was hardly visible. The rest was mostly covered by the hood they were wearing.
Without turning in Kye direction, the figure spoke up.
”What do you want…?”

As Matthew walked inside, he would see some black particles on the floor which were scatted across the hall.
”The hell is this?” he muttered who himself as the dust-like particles started to glow before exploding like a C4. A faint laugh can be heard from deeper inside the hallway when the explosion happened.
Matthew, as might have expected, fell on his back, grunting as he stood up. There were some burnt marks on him and parts of his clothings were torn.

Hinata nodded. "Yeah, it really does. And you can't judge a person by where they're from." She shrugged, looking over at the knock on the door. She pursed her lips when saw the look of confusion, but didn't move to stop him.

As Cassius opened the door, three figures were present; all of which were people Hinata partially knew about. The Nature Fox, Shinrin, the Electric Fox, Rakurai, and the child secretary of the hospital, Jonathan.
”How are they doing doc?” Shinrin asked as the doctor nodded.
”They’re gradually getting better. Thankfully my magic worked on them so they’ll ready to go again in an hour or two” the doctor mentioned.
The foxes outside the room sighed in relief.
”That’s good to hear… anyways, we’ll be going now” they said as they turned away and walked down the hallway. As the doctor closed the door, he realized one person was missing, the childish one. It might have answered his question of where was he when the doctor turned around and saw the kid with Hinata.
”Heheh, Mrs. Hinata, can you tell me a bit more about your job? I heard Mr. Matthew and Dr. Cassius worked with you some time long ago so I’m interested”

Hinata smiled a little when Jonathan made his way over to her.
"Well," Hinata started, "As the Balance Keeper, it's my job to alter the Fates of different Worlds. I go around, inserting myself where need be and tweaking things. Making sure people end up in right places at the right times."

Kye shrugged. "To talk, I guess," he decided after a moment. "What are you doing?" He asked genuinely curious and not sounding suspicious of anything

Jonathan looked down and thought of something. He turned to Cassius who was walking towards them.
”So she’s like his royal highness, right doctor?” the childish figure asked.
”Similar, but to a different level—“ the doctor patted the kid’s head ”—his royal highness is inferior compared to Hinata here” the doctor said as the kid’s eyes lit up.
”Wow! Really! Can you tell me more about your experiences? Like… how did you meet Mr. Matthew and all that” the child was excited about hearing all this new information.

”Are you blind…? I’m taking a walk…” the figure answered harshly and with no compassion or friendliness whatsoever. They looked down at the bloodstains on their cloak and sighed. Their eyes reflected the scarlet glow of the blood; they lacked emotion.

"I noticed, and no I am not blind. I was just curious. Are you a knight? I am afraid I am not the best at picking them out," Kye kept talking as though he wasn't at all scared of this figure.

The figure rolled their eyes as they adjusted their cloak, not wanting to reveal any parts of their body for Kye to see.
”No… I’m not one of those puppets whose reason of existence is to ‘protect and serve’ what is ‘right’…” the figure stated with a clear hatred towards the alliance.
”Now let me ask you… who the hell are you…” they eyed Kye with a threatening eye.

"An idiot who managed to wind up down here," Kye shrugged. "I am someone who poses little threat, and will pretty easily get into trouble."

”I…” the figure sighed.
”I was asking for your fucking name… or whatever the fuck I can call you by…” the figure said again with a bored and disappointed tone. They wiped some of the blood off their cloak.

"All you had to do was ask for it then," Kye rolled his eyes. "You said who are you, making it sound as if you wanted to know what I was like. And anyways if you are going to ask for someone's name it is only fitting that you give yours as well."

Adara remained untouched by the explosion. She had frozen at the sound of laughter, turning to Matthew to warn him of… well, of what, she had no idea, when it exploded. She covered her eyes and winced, hearing his pained grunt. She opened her eyes and moved toward him, reaching out a hand to help him up. "You okay?"

The figure gave a tired sigh.
”Kaito Yumeka… from the realm of Mezias” the figure introduced themself quite plainly. Though there were parts of himself that he left unspoken.

”Could be better—“ Matthew said as he gave a pained expression standing up.
A figure soon revealed themself to be wearing a green, glowing gas mask with a black modern attire.
”Hey hey, did that surprise you Matty?” the figure asked with a mumbled voice, both of their hands were in their hoodie’s pockets.
”How do you know me…?” the Knight asked, panting a bit.
”Oh… that’s now important—“ they started to move their hand out from the pocket ”—what is important though—“ they opened their hand to reveal a handful of the particles from earlier ”—is that you’ll become history…” the figure said as they threw the handful of powder at Matthew and Adara.

(Attack the figure when they’re distracted?)

"Kye Gathrodir, explorer of caves, peace negotiator, explosives expert, bla bla bla, yata yata, you get the idea," Kye gave a slight bow as he introduced himself. "The list of titles people have given me is getting slowly longer. I am not a fan."

The figure gave a small nod.
”Now… do you need anything else from me… or are you finally willing to leave me alone…” the figure asked with a threatening tone. He seemed dissatisfied with… everything that was going on.

"Actually I want to know what you are planning to do," Kye simply shrugged. "Or you could go the whole, I am not planning anything route, leave and I will just follow you around. I may be crazy, but I am not stupid."

”You say that…” the figure wafted their cloak as they disappeared into thin air, leaving almost no traces around. A thin piece of cloth of the cloak was left behind on the ground and that was it. The figure was indeed gone.

(Pick up the cloth?)
(Leave it there?)

Kye looked at the cloth for a moment. Then with an almost sad sounding sigh he reached down and picked it up. "Why do I have a bad feeling?" he muttered mostly to himself.
That is actually worrying. Like about sixteen billions times more worrying than the reasons I usually come up with.
"How so?"
Well for one thing you aren't worried about death, war, insanely powerful goddesses that could wipe you out of existence, interdimensional travel, Capital G God, any of the other gods out there, giant slug monsters with human heads…
Kye gave a slight chuckle at the last comment.
…Dragons, the death reaper, nuclear bombs, people trying to kill you or everyone around you, demons, all powerful beings that could snap you like a twig, giants, ogres, all other types of bombs…
Kye tuned Gelion's continued list out and examined the cloth.
