Pluto looked up at Beau as he entered, nodding silently in acknowledgement. He picked up a nearby book and pretended to be raptly interested in it.
Pluto looked up at Beau as he entered, nodding silently in acknowledgement. He picked up a nearby book and pretended to be raptly interested in it.
"What are you reading there?" Beau asked, deciding not to make Pluto talk about the third-grader unless he wanted to. He sat down next to the boy quietly, fidgeting with his hearing aid before he let his hands fall back into his lap once again.
He shifted the book to show Beau the cover. Peter Pan. It was one of the stories that Pluto reread often; particularly when he was feeling strong emotions and felt like he needed to cool down.
"That's a nice one. I've always wanted to be a lost boy," Beau answered softly, a small smile tugging the corners of his lips up as he looked towards the cover and back towards Pluto. He used to read the same book as well, though he had always preferred The Adventures of Sherlock Homes as well.
Pluto nodded, turning back to the book. Should I speak? No, your emotions are out of whack. You'd probably end up saying something you'll regret. He toyed with a corner of the page, running his fingers along the edge of the paper and not seeming to notice as he got a long paper cut.
"How are you feeling?" Beau asked softly as he watched Pluto turn back towards the book, reading some of the words before he looked back up towards his brother's gaze. As he asked the question, he silently hoped that he wasn't bothering Pluto too much.
"I'm fine…" Pluto's voice cut through the silence after a long moment. He examined the beads of blood forming on his index finger, not making eye contact with Beau. There was a faint bruise on his cheekbone.
Beau frowned at the sight of blood on Pluto's index finger before he reached over and grabbed a stray bandaid that Camilla had left behind. He wrapped it around his brother's finger gingerly before he glanced up towards their bruise, letting out a faint sigh. "I'm so sorry that he did that to you. When I was younger…I would get beat up at school a lot too," Beau spoke up softly as his amber eyes studied Pluto intently.
Pluto looked up at Beau, conflicted for a few seconds on whether he should speak or not. "Really?" He finally asked, rubbing his thumb against the bandaid softly. His fluffy, silvery blond hair hung in his icy blue eyes.
"Yeah, since I've always had hearing problems, kid's would tease me for something as small as that. I would get into a lot of fights with my classmates," Beau answered, motioning to his hearing aid as he placed his hand back into his lap.
"I think Jaxon doesn't like me because I'm small and an easy target. I don't really fight back, per se…" Pluto sighed, his hands trembling slightly as he held the book. "And he's older… his class isn't in my hallway, so he never gets caught. I just… I-I don't understand…" Pluto's voice cracked and his eyes stung with tears again.
(Hello?)
(Sorry guys, I have a head cold and actually was able to get some rest yesterday. Could someone gimme a recap of what happened?)
(They went to school, Pluto got minorly beat up and is being silent and didn't show up for dinner, Beau is currently in his room trying to get him to talk. I assume the others are still eating downstairs or doing their own thing)
(oakely doakely)
(Wanna come get mad at me for not showing up to dinner)
(Hello everyone)
(Hi)
(I'm late. Like, really late. Can someone explain what's been happening? I'm Mercury)
(Swiss cheese, I deeply apologize for not doing my character sooner.
Uh did FireSky post their character? •-•
I am in much pain. (Not serious though)
Anyways.
My apologies.)

"Some people just like to hurt others because they feel like they get some sort of…reward from it. A feeling of satisfaction," Beau explained softly, frowning as he listened to what Pluto was saying about Jaxon. When he noticed the tears threatening the younger boy's eyes again, he wrapped his arms around them hesitantly, pulling Pluto into a soft hug.
(Sorry, I'm kind of off and on for a couple days, but I'll be back soon.)
(WAIT CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT’S HAPPENING)
(Same. ;-;)
(They went to school, Pluto got minorly beat up, and yeah basically nothing else important happened. Kai skipped)
Pluto leaned against Beau, trying to brush away the stubborn tears. He kept his gaze firmly on the bird's nest, not blinking. Don't blink… then you'll cry. Just keep your eyes open. "What kind of satisfaction would someone get from throwing someone else to the ground?" He finally asked, if quietly.
