(Ok)
Azalea lazily lounged around her living room, finding the weirdest positions to sit on her couch. For the first time ever, she was bored. She had no one to text, no one to talk to, or anything to do. After a couple of hours of staring at the blank ceiling, she finally got up and went to the kitchen to make herself a snack. Her mother saw her and squeezed her shoulder softly.
"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked her daughter, seeing the pouting look on her face.
"Just the usual. Boredom." She sarcastically answered while smiling. She opened the fridge and despite all the food in there, couldn't find anything to eat.
"You're always bored. Why don't you do something fun? What happened to all of your friends from before? Adie, Xeelia, Will, Charlise, and Carmen? Why don't you hang out with them anymore."
"Well, we kind of fell apart after freshman year started, we don't really talk anymore," Azalea said, reflecting back on when they used to all be best buddies.
"You should invite them over. It'd be good for you. Maybe even throw a small party, I'll maybe even let you drink a little." Her mother sheepishly said. She mumbled the last part a bit softer as if other people could be listening in on them even though it was just the two of them.
"Mom!" She said before walking out of the kitchen to head to her room.
"What? Just think about it." She called out after her as she went to her room.
Azalea flopped onto her bed and took out her phone, going through her contacts which she hadn't called for over two years. She twiddled her thumbs, thinking about whether or not to text them but decided against it. She could just talk to them at school tomorrow.
Carmen sat in the back corner of her bed, gently strumming her guitar. She was bored. And lonely. And Jesus Fucking Christ, can they shut up! She sighed, leaning back against the wall. Should I talk to someone? She She glanced at her phone, remembering she didn't really have anyone to talk to. She closed her eyes, tilting her head back until her face was to the ceiling. Why did we even fall apart?
(Oh darn…guess that the me-roleplaying-this thing aint happening now…)
(Following because it looks cool.)
Charlise was biking through her neighborhood, her hair up in a ponytail. Her curls blew behind her as she rode, high on adrenaline. She pedaled at a quick speed, but not one she couldn’t maintain for several minutes. As she was pedaling, she remembered when she used to bike with her friends, and wondered why they had stopped talking to each other. Riding her bike felt admittedly lonelier without the others beside her now.
(lol i’m gonna say they rode bikes together at one point or another)
Down here, none of the screaming kids or shouting parents could get to her ears. All she could hear was the bubbling of water gently sloshing against her eardrums, beating a rhythm that she knew so well and loved. Her eyes drifted up behind the sealed goggles, scanning the bobbing waves, so high above her head. Almost no one came to the deep end, especially children. That was good for her because that meant less distraction from her personal meditation.
Xeelia uncrossed her legs and kicked off of the floor of the pool, pushing herself up towards the surface. Her lungs needed a break from holding her breath so long. A minute and ten seconds. Not bad. She took in some needed air, and as soon as her blue curls broke the protective layer of water, the screaming kids of the public pool rang through her ears. A sigh escaped her lips, and she wished now more than ever to be able to hang with her friends. Then this place would be less lonely.

Kim leaned back against the tree with a sigh. She glanced at all of the kids running around the park and went back to reading her book. She loved escaping to the world of her favorite characters, hidden away from all her problems. Although, instead of reading, she thought about her friends. She had always been considered a little weird in high school, and she was bullied a lot of the time, but then she met Azalea, her first friend when she moved to town. Azalea was a really great friend. She introduced her to Carmen, Charlise, and Xeelia. After that, Kim considered them her best friends. But then one day, they just stopped hanging out as much as they used to, and she had no idea why. Her thoughts were interrupted when a tennis ball nearly hit her head. She looked up at the group of boys, picked up the ball, stood up and threw it to them, satisfied when one of them caught it. Then, she grabbed her book, and headed home.
Adie was… In a tree. Don't ask how he'd gotten there because he wouldn't be able to tell you. But now, he was scrolling through Tumblr. He was, sigh, bored so he scrolled through his contacts, coming upon an old group chat he had named Nerds. Adie clicked into the chat, humming. Oh, it was with the old friend group. Well, I'm bored so I might as well annoy them. He decided, typing out a text that would be sent through the chat. "Hey nerds. Y'all wanna hang out? I'm in the park, I got stuck in a tree and now I'm bored."
Kim's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and looked at the text. Adie? I never actually met him, but I've talked to him in this chat plenty of times. Now I can hang out with my friends again! She typed out a message. "Hey, I'm at the park right now! Which tree are you in?" Once she sent it, she stuck her book into her bag, and looked up into the tree above her. Well he's not up there. She thought.
After Charlise got home, she chugged a glass of water and opened the fridge to see what they had. She felt her phone buzz in her pocket and looked at it to see the old group chat was once again alive…sort of. She raised an eyebrow. It was like Adie had read her mind. Well, then again, it wasn’t like she had a lot to do today, so she closed the fridge and typed out a response.
”I’m at my house rn, but I’ll be there in ten”
She put her phone back in her pocket and went back outside to get on her bike again. This was certain to be interesting. She’d actually kind of missed her old friend group.
Glancing around, Kim spotted a brown and purple haired guy sitting in a tree a few feet away. She waved and walked toward him.
William was walking on his street when he noticed he got a notification. He checked it before thinking, Sure why not. ‘Be there in a sec’, he sent. He walked to the park, looking around
Azalea rolled around her bed before feeling a vibration come from her blanket. She saw their old group chat buzzing with messages from four others about meeting up at a park. It's like they read my mind. Azalea thought before typing a response that said she would be there. She chuckled a bit when she read that Adie was in a tree before taking her small drawstring bag to the park. She let her mom know that she would be out and back before heading to the park. She spotted him and Kim walking towards him. "Hey," She said to the both of them when she approached the tree.
"Hey Azelea. Long time no see." She responded, then tilted her head questioningly at Adie, wondering why in the world he was up there in the first place. "So, Adie. Did you just climb up there?"
Carmen heard her phone buzz against the sheets, grabbing it and reading the text. Holy shit-
Give me a few to sneak out, I'll be right there. Don't ask what I did this times. I'll explain there.
Charlise arrived to see the some of the others already there. “Hey guys,” she chirped, setting her bike down near the tree. “What’s up? Though I suppose that would be Adie. More like, how are all of you?”
Will spotted them and walked up to them. Hearing what Charlise said, he answers, “I’m good. How are all of you doing?”
