(Oh my gosh I know that song)
Floyd listened to Ace’s voice, and exhaled slowly. He buried his face in the crook of Ace’s neck, eventually feeling soothed enough that his eyes slowly fluttered shut. His breaths became steady and his grip on the boy had loosened, hinting that he had fallen asleep.
Ace continued singing until the song ended, a small smile on his face as he held Floyd tightly against himself.
He doesn't deserve this.
He yelled to himself in the back of his mind.
I have to find out who did this, for Floyd.
Floyd’s eyes slowly fluttered open when light began to show through the curtains of Ace’s bedroom. His eyes still felt puffy, and he was sure that the skin alrunf them was bright red. Maybe it was just a terrible dream. Maybe he was just waking up from being with Ace, and Cassie was at home, most likely arguing with Nick about his cooking.
Ace laid there, holding onto Floyd like his live depended on it, he refused to wake up right now, he didn't want to, until he felt Floyd stir, allowing his blue eyes to open as he looked down at the other boy.
"Mornin' he said, his eyelids droopy as he gave Floyd a kiss on the nose, hoping he was in a somewhat better mood.
“Morning,” Floyd mumbled, pressing a soft kiss to Ace’s neck in return. He shifted a bit more and propped himself up slightly against his elbow. He rubbed at his stinging eyes, sniffling softly. It wasn’t a dream. His sister really was gone.
"Hey, It's gonna be okay." He said, following his lead, sitting up just a bit and taking Floyd's face in his hand, the other holding him up.
"I'll cover all the costs and we'll put together a funeral, I can help you and Nick plan it if you want..although I can just pay..I understand if you just want to have family time.." He said, staring into Floyd's eyes.
Floyd leaned into the touch, letting out a slow breath. “No, you should come. Cassie would want you to come,” he said softly. Nick. Where was his brother? Where was he in the castle?
Ace nodded, his eyebrows furrowed as he watched Floyd think, a sad smile spread across his face.
Floyd sat up a bit more, blinking a few times. “I need to clean up, find Nick,” he murmured as he ran a hand through his hair, fingers getting caught on a few tangled strands.
Ace nodded, allowing his hand to fall back to his side as he stood up and got out of the bed as he went over to his closet, grabbing a clean shirt and jeans, quickly slipping on his black combat boots after getting dressed and turning around, turning his phone on and contacting a few people to talk later to start planning the funeral.
"He stayed in the second bedroom down the hall.."
Floyd had watched for a moment and shook his head to get a few choice thoughts out of his mind. He nodded in response to Ace, murmuring that he’d be finished quickly before stepping into the bathroom, duffel bag of items in hand. He left the door cracked and got undressed before getting into the shower, turning the water low so it was freezing cold. This woke him up right away, but he didn’t turn it up. If it had been any other time, then he had imagined himself whining in an obnoxious tone for Ace to join him, but it wasn’t right to do then. He quickly washed his hair and body clean before turning the water off. He stepped out of the shower and got dressed in a different change of clothes before stepping back out of the bathroom, hair still dripping a tad.
Ace sat on his bed, hearing the shower turn on, he sighed, flopping down onto his back as he picked up his phone that was now ringing.
"Hello? Yes that would be perfect…yeah they need a day to settle in and process what has happened.." He said to the sweet lady on the other line, "Thank you." He hung up, walking up to Floyd.
"I have to go do something…so..don't hesitate to call me if you need anything." He stood up on his tip-toes, kissing Floyd's forehead and wrapping his arms around his body, burring his face in his chest.
Floyd nodded and hugged Ace back in a tight hold. “Okay, be careful,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of the blonde’s head. He was still anxious to let Ace go anywhere alone, but he guessed that would have guards.
Ace let go of Floyd as he quickly made his way out of the castle, his phone rang, picking it up he made his way out of the door, heading towards the far side of the kingdom.
Floyd left the bedroom, walking down the hall to Nick’s room. He knocked softly at the door, and came in once he heard his brother. He shut the door behind him and looked over at Nick with a heavy frown. Nick looked like he had been crying, and he never cried. Floyd went over to his older brother and pulled him into a tight embrace, which the man returned just as tight.
Ace looked around the space, the flowers he had ordered where already placed neatly around the beautifully handmade headstone.
"This looks great, I'm sure they'll love it.." He smiled sadly as he paid the decorator. He pulled out his phone, texting Floyd to make sure he knows that he was on his way back.
Floyd had been sitting with Nick, discussing what they were to do next. Cassie was one of their main sources of income, as she was higher in the science department. Both of them didn’t get paid as much as they liked. If they didn’t figure out something soon, the two were scared that they could loose their cottage.
Floyd felt his phone buzz in his pocket and he took out the device, reading the message from Ace. He responded quickly, telling him where he was before stuffing the phone away.
Once he got home, he knocked on Nick's door, waiting for them to let him in, not wanting to just jump in when he wasn't wanted or needed.
Nick had gotten up from his spot and opened the door. “Ace. Come in,” he said, opening the door the rest of the way and stepping aside so he could step in. Floyd looked over at Ace, a meek smile forming on his lips.
Ace thanked Nick, giving him a small hug before making his way over to Floyd.
"I have something for you guys to see.." He said, a tiny smile on his face as he took Floyd's hands in his own.
Floyd watched the pair with a smile, but arched a brow in confusion at Ace’s words. “What is it?” He questioned. He had no clue what Ace could possibly want to show them.
"I have a feeling you to will like it.." He said, tugging Floyd over to the door, "I've been working on this since last night.." He said, rubbing the back of his neck as he opened the door.
"Come on you two!"
Floyd forced a light smile and stepped out into the hall, letting Ace lead him along. Nick’s brow was furrowed when the young king spoke, but he still chose to follow anyways.
