Nolan just kept stroking his hair calmly. "Be thankful you aren't missing anything then. Let your worries escape your mind. Let your body heal. You deserve that."
Nolan just kept stroking his hair calmly. "Be thankful you aren't missing anything then. Let your worries escape your mind. Let your body heal. You deserve that."
Ayce swallowed. No I don't I don't i don't i don't i caused so many desths it's my fault it's my fault I failed i failed I… "No i don't…" He mumbled, eyes focused on the ground.
"You do. You do deserve it. Stop listeming to the voice insode your head and listen to mine. I'm telling the truth. Not that voice, me. So relax and heal yourself." Nolan said sternly. He placed his hand on the back of Ayce's neck
Ayce flinched slightly. "I-I…" He stammered, chewing on his lip again. Why why does he care why is he even trying to make me feel better why is he helping me i don't understand this i don't understand anything anymore. "O-okay." He whispered.
"Good." Nolan smiled. He had an overwehlming feeling to kiss Ayce but reigned it in. He wasn't ready for hik to be that affectionate. Nolan didn't know he could be that affectionate.
Ayce glanced up at him for a moment, then returned his attention to the ground in front of him so he wouldn't fall. "Thank you for…for caring…" He whispered softly, using his free hand to brush some loose hair out of his face.
"You don't have to thank me for that." Nolan looked down at him. He grabbed a tie amd gently tied back Ayce's hair. "There, is that better?" He asked him
Ayce blinked, looking at him with a slight nod. "Yeah. Thank you…" He said softly. In the back of his mind, he knew what normal behavior was. He knew how most people behaved. But layered on top of that was how so many had treated him, and then over that was Raifa. So maybe…he just needed to understand life and people again.
Nolan nodded. He kept a hand on the back of his neck. His thumb caressed Ayce's skin softly as they walked. It was after mid day when they finally came across a village. The first thing he did was rent a room amd get some food for the both of them. "Im going to get you some proper clothing. Do you want to come with me?"
Ayce looked at him, and nodded slightly. "Yes please." He said in a quiet voice. "Unless you don't want me to, then I-I can stay in the room." He shifted, looking down at his feet.
Nolan just smiled amd extended his hand to him. "Of course you can come with me. You can pick out your favorite colors and anything else you want."
Ayce looked at him, and slowly took his hand. "Okay." He replied, another one of those quick, fleeting smiles darting across his face for a moment, then was gone again.
Nolan gripped his hand comfortingly. He led him out of the room and too one of the clothing stores nearby. "See anything you want?"
Ayce shrugged slightly. "I don't know what would fit anymore. I-I lost a lot of weight…" He glanced down at his too thin body, chewing on his lip a little, then at the clothes.
"Pick a color or a style then we'll find something that fits you." Nolan looked around then down Ayce. "We'll find something for you."
Ayce nodded slightly. "Okay." He replied, swallowing, then looking around. He eventually found a long sleeved shirt and a pair of pants. "These would work, I-I think…"
Nolan nodded. He looked for ones that would fit Ayce's frame. He grabbed a couple of each. "Go try them on, make sure they fit."
Ayce took them carefully, looking around. "Where do I try them on?" He asked, looking at Nolan. His blue eyes were unreadable, the emotions in them too turbulent to be easily deciphered.
Nolan led him over to a changing room. "Do you want help or can you do it yourself?" He asked, brushing the back of his hand against his cheek swiftly.
Ayce blinked. "I-I-I…I don't know…" He admitted, a faint blush darting across his cheeks as he avoided Nolan's eyes. "Depends on…I…"
Nolan warmed at the blush on Ayce's cheeks. "How about I help you. I won't look at you if you don't want me too." He offered
Ayce nodded slightly. "I-I… okay." He replied softly, shifting. He looked away, then down at his feet.
Nolan led him into the changing room amd locled the door behind them. He held up to the trousers. "Let's try these on first.
Ayce blinked, and nodded. "O-okay." He said, taking off the ragged pants that he had been wearing ever since Nolan had got him from Raifa.
Nolan crouched down and held the trousers open so Ayce could step into them easily. He smiled up at him
