Vita snorted at their stupidity. “No, it’s green. Honestly, it’s like you all were born today.”
Vita snorted at their stupidity. “No, it’s green. Honestly, it’s like you all were born today.”
"You know, I'm pretty sure I was born today. Happy birthday to me," she sang, voice becoming louder as she sat up. She looked around her and quickly laid back down. The sky was much prettier than these people.
“Oh dear.” Vita’s eyes flashed purple. “Great. And all idiots, too. Fun.”
"Don't say that! You are mean, very mean. I don't like that!" they said. You really shouldn't do that, I'm sure nobody wants a little… accident putting you out of the way. they thought, somehow knowing Vita would hear it.
Vita raised an eyebrow. He could sense people’s thoughts easily, and this one pissed him off. “Are you threatening me?”
Mortem stood up more quickly than she ever had (though it was the first time), walking over to Vita. "Vita, love, dear, darling, sweet, wonderful fluffball of a person. Would it trouble you terribly to just shut the everloving hell up?" She asked, smiling sweetly.
“Yes, it would trouble me,” Vita grumbled. “Hats why I don’t stop talking. Duh.”
"Alright, then," Mortem said, untroubled. "Well, I tried, at least. But you're a grumbly grandfather, so if you'll excuse me," she walked off to go do cartwheels.
Vita rolled his eyes. Why is everyone so happy? He wondered. He picked at a tree nearby.
Glancing down for a second, Infinitus spotted something that was neither rubble or a plant. Reaching down, he grabbed it and looked at it closely. It’s a map? Why would a map be here? His eyes traced an outlined path to the city of Arebol. “Hey guys? I think I found something.”
"Shut up, Vitamin shake, you're not helping." Imperium snapped.
“It’s nice enough to meet you guys, I suppose,” Vanitate said quietly. “I’m Vanitate, it’s a mouthful. You could call me V. What did you find? She turned to Infinitus in interest, eyes flicking up to the sky for a moment.
Vita rolled his eyes. “Why Vitamin? Vitamins are good for you. I’m not.”
“Looks like a map of some kind,” Infinitus turned the map around a couple of times before returning it to its original position. “Has anyone heard of a place called ‘Arebol’?” The word tasted weird on his tounge, almost like he should know what it is.
"I'm not good at nicknames, okay?! Now shut up and be nice!!" they growled, a look of certain death to those who dared cross them in their eyes.
Vanitate took a few steps closer to Infinitus. “I haven’t,” she said calmly, ignoring the fight. “It’s… familiar, though. Like I should know it.” She grimaced. It was an odd feeling of uncertainty, and she didn’t like it.
"Oh, that's weird," Mortem said, walking over to the group. "It looks like… a map," she said, purposefully stating the obvious. She laughed like an insane person and cartwheeled away. What a fine life this is. Or death. Or afterlife. Either way, it's fine.
"What? A map? You found a map? Well, obviously, I just want to clarify. Oh, of course you did. What does it read?" Imperium asked.
Infinitus’ eyes followed Mortem’s form. “Is she okay? Cause I kinda feel like she’s overwhelmed by everything right now,” he whispered, careful to keep his voice low. Clearing his throat, he spoke louder. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s a map of the land we’re in, but it has an outlined path to Arebol.”
"I can hear you!" Mortem yelled, still cartwheeling. "I'm not overwhelmed, this is who I am, you bush of nonsense!" She paused. "At least, I think so. I don't know, I was born like 5 minutes ago."
“Maybe overwhelmed is part of her personality. Or she’s… really excitable,” Vanitate said slowly, just as quietly. She probably wouldn’t be noticed. Maybe. “Do you suppose we should follow that path? Maybe it can tell us something more about who we are.”
Infinitus nodded in agreement to both statements. “If this is the chance to find out who we are, then I say we take it,” Carefully folding the map, he slid it into his pocket and straightened. “Who’s up for a little journey?” he called to the rest of the group.
"Me, obviously," Temi called back, coming to a stop near the rest of the group. "But if you use the term 'adventure,' it'll sound more exciting."
Vita groaned. No one was listening to his amazing words of advice. Sighing, he walked away, tugging at his hair, which grew slightly.
“Right, let’s go then,” Vanitate said. She leaned in slightly, peering at the map. “Where are we right now, you think? Maybe around here?” She pointed out a small section of the map that used around the same colors that surrounded them, and was directly on the path the map showed. Almost exactly the beginning, actually.
