Noctune drove to the cafe after getting herself ready with her usual outfit. As she drove, she tried turning on the car radio, only to remember that it was completely busted. Noctune laughed at herself for making such a mistake, then refocused her eyes on the surroundings in front of her.
Eventually, Noctune got to the cafe and parked her car, then shut it off. She noticed Eudora and Haisley and hopped out of her car, slamming the door behind her, then heading towards them. "Hey, guys," Noctune called out as she walked towards them, waving to them so that they notice her, but to where she didn't look too frantic doing so; even though, with her looks and her height, she stuck out like a sore thumb. A very sore thumb.
Noctune didn't show it, but she was pretty glad to meet up with the other immortals. She hadn't had contact with other beings like her in a long while, so this was like a breath of fresh air for her. She adjusted her mask, and when she finally reached the spot the other two were standing at, she stood with them, hoping to finally work up the courage to strike up a conversation.
She hugged Eudora, not minding it that she was being pulled into a hug. Eudora did always have the power to at least get half a warm smile to paint her face, she grinned at her bouncing full of joy before letting go when she did.
"I could say the same about you really, I'm doing fine you could say. How are yo-"
Her sentence was cut off by one of the other immortals arriving, it annoyed her but she let it slide. They didnt need to be fighting today and she was gonna avoid it this time around since they hadn't meet in a while. She waved at the immortal that just arrived before turning back to facing Eudora.
"So like I was trying to say earlier, how are you?"
(Should probably clarify if any of you want to know, the immortals can be injured like humans, but they won't die from said injuries. It'll just hurt like hell until their quick healing fixes them up to new)
"I'm doing pretty good, as well as life on the west coast can be anyway," She replied with a small laugh, "It's been much too long since we've all gotten together."
Eudora turned her head and smiled brightly at the realization that someone else was here. She barely excused herself from the conversation with Haisley before she was happily walking to Noctune, pulling the tall girl into a hug, whether she wanted it or not.
"Noctune, how are you? How has life been?" She asked, smiling as she led the newest member over so all three of them could talk, "I think we're just waiting for Lars…then we can head inside. I don't think he'll like being left behind."
It wasn't unusual for Eudora to be this chipper and happy around the other immortals, but when she was living life, she usually had a much more calm air to her. Being around others that she missed dearly was an easy way to put her in a good mood.
Noctune didn't pay mind to the hug, although she'd normally lash out at anyone who even dared to try and hug her, knowing that the immortals hadn't seen each other in such a long time, she had a feeling she'd receive something like this from someone. "Damn, it's been a hot minute since we met, hasn't it? I'm fine. Life has been… life, I guess," Noctune replied, her bitter tone becoming a little brighter, knowing that she had regained contact with the immortals after such a long time. It was becoming clear that she was rather happy about this whole thing. "As for the other bit, yeah, I don't think he would. I don't think anyone would enjoy being left behind, especially on an occasion like this, where we all finally get to meet up after so long," she added, adjusting her mask again. Noctune then decided to just remove her mask entirely, since today was a special day for all of them, which made her feel like she had to change something up in order to make the day feel even more special.
Lars smiled widely when he saw his small group of friends and quickly parked in front of the building. “Hello, ladies. Sorry if I'm late. I needed to stop for a few minutes and stretch my legs.” he said as he walked up to them. “Fifteen hours of driving is enough to make anyone stiff as a board.” Honestly, he had more than just stretch as noted by how fresh his cargo shorts and t-shirt was. “Hope I'm not overdressed for this restaurant.” he teased with his usual smirk and a playful wink.
It felt so good to see the others again, like seeing family. It was a nice balm to living in this world and being unable to share so much with someone. The life of an immortal was a lonely one, but he was determined to focus on that right now.
Eudora was sure her face would hurt from smiling later, but her current smile somehow widened when she saw Lars. "Right on time as always Lars," She said, pulling him into a tight hug just like she had to the others, "Try to be earlier next time, otherwise I'll leave you behind."
Her tone was teasing, and from the happiness in her eyes, it didn't seem likely that it would ever come to that.
"Now, let's eat, I purposely only ate something small this morning, and now I'm starving." Turning on her heel, she led the way into the restaurant, sure that they would follow, "And before any of you object, I am paying for this. No ifs and or buts."
She took on much more of a smooth happiness when she entered the cafe, leading the three others to an open booth with a smile. At first, she didn't notice the wallet there either, just motioned for the others to sit down, painfully oblivious to it.
Haisley walked inside shaking her head letting out a bit of a chuckle.
She followed Eudora inside of the cafe following her to the seats, she stood in front her not noticing either, the famed wallet on the seat.
"Eudora, I'm going to pay for part of it and you cannot stop me."
She went to sit down on the opposite side of the both from the wallet and sat down.
"No ifs, ands or buts."
She crossed her leg by putting the whole leg over her flatted thigh like apparently guys sit but I have almost never seen guys sit like that before so I wouldn't know lol.
She picked up a menu and started to scan it as everyone picked there seats.
“Ladies, ladies. Please don’t fight. A gentleman always pays.” Lars smirked in his usual way, though he was genuinely willing to cover the bill. ”It’s been such a long time since we all saw each other. Besides, Dora, you picked the restaurant this time. No need for you to spend your money.” he pointed out as he slid into the booth opposite of Haisley.
(Imma wait for Probably to post before I do again)
Noctune followed the others into the cafe and took a seat next to Lars, crossing her right leg over her left once she sat down. She remained silent argument-wise; she didn't wanna get involved. Sure, it would be nice for her to pitch in with the payment, but she knew that the argument would just last longer if she chimed in at this point. "Lars makes a fair point," Noctune said. She tapped her finger against her thigh; or, at least, that's what it looked like- it was hard to tell because of her oversized cloak.
(So Lars or Noctune are going to discover the wallet, right?)
"Oh shush all of you, this is my treat," She replied, rolling her eyes once more, "You all came from much too far away for me to make you pay anything. And plus, I've had more than enough of a steady income these past years, I want to pay alright?"
Eudora seemed to not want to take no for an answer as she slid next to Haisley, taking the last menu and scanning over it even though she knew exactly what she wanted. This was a place she came to frequently, and she never strayed from her usual order, no matter the time of day. All she had to wait for was the other's decisions and one of the waitstaff to come take their orders.
(I think Lars, since he's sitting across from Haisley)
(I’m fine with that. … Should I go ahead and post again or wait for someone else to first?)
(if anyone else is still here, can I get a headcount? You know, just reply once saying “here” or something?)
(Yay! In that case, I’ll try to get up a response with Lars finding the wallet soon.)
Lars smiled briefly at Noctune with a grateful nod for agreeing with him, but that quickly turned to a sigh of mild annoyance when Eudora continued to insist on paying. “Dora, darling. While we are all glad to hear that you have a steady, well-paying job for this point in time, I would like to say that you are not alone in this.” he reminded her, trying not to sound arrogant. After all, he had been in full support of women’s rights even back before they became so public. But as far as money, he was sure they all had some stock on that old Caribbean tomcat’s greatest accomplishment. “I’ll tell you what, we’ll flip for it. Heads I pay, tails the check is yours.” he suggested as he felt his need for caffeine rise again. Without waiting for her response, Lars reached habitually for his wallet… Only to be puzzled when the billfold he held up wasn't his.
(Uhh, guys? … The point of the “head count” was to see who would respond…)
