Drew jumped and teleported himself behind a bookshelf and out of line of sight. "Who are YOU?" He fired back.
Drew jumped and teleported himself behind a bookshelf and out of line of sight. "Who are YOU?" He fired back.
"You're… y-you're not either of my parents, are you?" Jay asked nervously, flinching at Drew's assertive tone.
A bit confused, Drew takes a step forward. "Unless one of your parents is a 21 year old kid thats 5'3", I doubt that I am."
Jay hesitated. "Jay Curtis. W-Who are you?" He stepped forwards, peering around the corner of the door. He felt very small and insignificant at the moment, his badly bleeding shoulder visible.
Drew didn't trust him without seeing him and he wasn't about to put himself in a position to be seen in case it was a trick. "Show yourself."
Show myself? Well, alright… I think it's pretty clear he's not either of them; he doesn't sound anything like them. Jay walked out of the door shakily, leaving his battered and bleeding self exposed in the library. He put a hand over his shoulder gingerly, as it was hurting badly. There were still pieces of glass in the wound.
Drew saw the boy before him and saw that he was battered and bruised and his guard went down but didn't disappear. He sighed. and looked at the Jay's shoulder. "I can fix that for you."
"I… I-I don't know if it can really be actually fixed right now…" Jay looked away, his eyes stinging with tears. Stop crying, you useless boy! His father's words rang in his ears. Where have you been?! You're late! Oh, you're going to regret breaking curfew, boy.
Drew felt the emotion coming off the boy and felt bad. "You'd be surprised." He stepped out from his hiding spot. "The name's Drew Lancaster. Now, let's have a look at that shoulder."
"R-Really, it's… fine…" Jay lied, stepping back anxiously. A piece of glass pricked his hand and he hissed with pain, pulling his hand away quickly, which exposed the wound.
Drew raised an eyebrow, "I can tell. Please. I can't promise that what I'm going to do won't hurt but, I'm won't do it to be harmful. You seriously need help. You look like you've lost quite a bit of blood. I don't want you to pass out." He raised his hands in caution as he talked and took a few steps forward.
Well, I am feeling pretty lightheaded… Jay swayed on his feet and leaned himself against the wall. If he wants to come, he can. Not like I could really do much to stop him if he did… Jay slid down the wall onto the floor, fighting hard for consciousness. He managed to keep his eyes open, though his vision was pretty blurry.
Drew rushed forward. "Shit, I didn't realize how bad it really was. You need to keep your eyes open. Stay awake is the one job you have. Can you do that for me?"
Jay nodded, his senses dulling a bit. Luckily, it did lessen some of the pain. His shoulder felt like, well, like it had been stabbed with a broken beer bottle, which of course it had. It wasn't the first time this had happened, however, although the first time was a bit different.
Drew summoned a pair of tweezers, a syringe filled with lidocaine to numb his arm of pain, a few rubber bands, gloves, whiskey, and a lot of cotton bandages. He gave Drew the shot right next to his collarbone and then brought the rubber bands up to his shoulder and put them there to stop the bleeding and cut of the circulation in his arm so the blood flow would stop. He narrated what he was going the entire time so Jay would have something to focus on other than the potential pain and the need to sleep.
Jay flinched when he was given the shot. The circulation leaving his shoulder hurt a lot, but he said nothing. It felt as though his shoulder was being drained, the blood sucked painfully down into the rest of his arm which felt as though it would burst. His consciousness was dwindling minute by minute, and it was getting much harder to stay awake. He was fighting so hard to keep his eyes open, but after a bit he just went limp.
(Hey @Smol_Snake what if you were like a long lost siblings of Kamryns?)
(It's not impossible and I'm fine with it. Did Jay ever tell her his last name? Maybe their parents were angry when kam ran away and had Jay and then had another punching bag essentially?)

Drew cursed and worked faster. He used the tweezers to pull all the glass out. When he was done with that, he poured the whiskey on it, cleaning it. He then took the rubber-bands off and wrapped the wound in loads of cotton band-aids to keep the wound from getting infected and continuously bleeding. He then sat back with bloody hands and wiped his forehead with the back of his head to get the sweat off of it. He looked at the boy before him, watching and making sure he was still breathing.
It took a while for Jay to wake up again, but he did. He blinked in the light, stirring slowly and glancing over at the bandages on his arm. "…W-What… what happened…?" He asked quietly, wincing as he pushed himself into a sitting position. How long have I been out? He wondered. He figured it had been a little while, but not incredibly long. Long enough for his head to feel heavy and achy.
(Holy cow, I missed a ton)
Bridgett rushed into the room when she heard a commotion. She glanced around at the chaos around her. A boy with dark hair was tending to a very hurt Jay. "What happened? Jay, are you alright?" She approached and crouched next to the two of them.
(And of course, Anyone At All, you're welcome :D )
"You went out for three hours." Drew said speaking to Jay from the corner. He had summoned a chair for himself and a bed for Jay, who was now laying in it. Drew was sitting in his chair, chugging a bottle of water. "I did the best I could to fix that shoulder up for you, but I'm no doctor. I only have basic knowledge." He took a sip of his water.
"Bridgett?" Jay looked up at her. "It… it was…" Should I tell her? Well, the other girl seems to know… she'd probably end up telling Bridgett anyways… "M-My parents…" He finished in a whisper, looking away guiltily. They'll be so angry… angrier than they were when you were late… who knows what they'll do?
A rush of confusion swirled in Bridgett's head before she understood. Jay's parents…. This guy helped… Bridgett was very tempted to go to Jay's parents and be a little harsher than words. "Aw, hon, you're staying here from now on, okay?" She turned to the new guy. "Who are you?"
