(omg ur right… we r e a l l y need bri..)
(and omfg my friend makes that joke all the time i swear XD)
(Haha bc I'm funny. I've made good puns before. Wanna hear them?)
(Sure. Just know that I will PUNish you. :))
(Okay so one time my grandma and I were in a store and we saw those dutch wooden shoe things and I think she asked like, "I wonder if those are comfortable?" or something like that and I responded with, "Wooden shoe like to know?" Then another time my fam was watching a tv show and the ppl were making boats out of random things and someone asked what the best material to make them out of was or something, so I responded, "Whatever floats your boat.")
(And then in science class we were cleaning and I found a pop rivet on the floor, so I walked up to my teacher's task, set it down in front of her, and, "This class is riveting.")
(… I love everything that I just read please be my friend XD)
(I thought we were already friends lol. My funniest moments come when I'm not thinking. For example, in Breath of the Wild I was in an inn, the door was open, and I saw a guy walking past on a horse. So of course, my first reaction is to run out the door, jump off the porch, pull out my ax while jumping, and try to literally murder this fool. It didn't work… I just wanted his horse lol)
(Hey!! Sorry, I had stuffs to do but I'm here now, I hope y'all are too, but I guess we'll see)
Bridgett woke with a start from a nightmare. She had fallen asleep while hugging Jay, but Jay wasn't in her arms anymore. Panic throbbed in her chest sending a rush of anxious adrenaline through her veins.
She jumped up out of her chair, nearly knocking it over. The sky had gotten even darker as time had gone by, so she couldn't see very well. "Jay? Jay?!" She didn't know why she was so scared, but she was.
(Also, @Caustic_Fraust you are amazing for all of your puns. You and my best friend would get along very well while you destroyed the world with the puns)
(lmao hello im here for a short while XD)
Drew is on the couch, unconscious and and doubled over. His back is still bleeding excessively and he's losing blood at a quick rate.
Bridgett finally focuses on Jay near the couch drinking from a mug. She also sees something on the couch… Then she realizes it's someone as she comes closer. "Drew?" She whispers, her voice full of surprise.
Drew's slumped over in the couch and a dark stain covers the back. She rushes to the couch and touches him. He's freezing. "Drew!"
Drew's breathing is shallow, but at least he's breathing. He's shivering uncontrollably and he's still bleeding excessively.
(you should probably get his back to stop bleeding, somehow. XD)
(also, hi, Bri. waves awkwardly)
(Yep, but she hasn't figured out where the blood's coming from)
(Hi, Anyone also waves awkwardly how you doin today?)
Crap. Bridgett felt his back gently, looking for the place where the blood was coming from. Here it is… She took off her jacket and pressed it to the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. "Hey, Drew? Drew, honey, I need you to wake up now." She knelt down to be level with his face, while still keeping pressure on his back.
(omfg shiP)
(Also, I'm doin pretty dang good, how 'bout yourself?)
"Hhhuughh" Drew grunted, the pain starting his slow climb to consciousness.
(Lol. I'm doin pretty dang good too :D )
"Okay, good, you're still alive." Bridgett mumbled.
(Idk if she should just stitch it up herself or bring him to the hospital. Tbh it'd probably be easier for the story to have her fix it and all but idk, what do you think?)
(I think that if it's easier for the story to have her fix it, she better do it quick. But just know that this'll probably lead to a few more problems physically for him down the road… seeing as he's not getting, like, professional care. But it would take more time to have him go to the hospital and get the care he needs. It all depends on what you're willing to have happen.)
(Define more problems physically down the road. Also, just 'cause she doesn't have professional tools, doesn't mean she doesn't know what she's doing. You forget her experience in medical-ness and that she's a librarian)
(Ah, yes. You're right. I do forget that. But what I was thinking was some sort of infection or maybe that he got a piece of the glass in his spine that caused him to go partially paralyzed. All just dramatic ideas to help keep things ~interesting~.)
(oof, well then, she'll just have to hope for the best)
Bridgett had Jay hold the jacket to Drew's back while she went to grab some things. She turned the light on and ran back to Drew as quickly as she could. "Okay, this is gonna hurt like the devil, but you'll be fine in the end." I hope.
Bridgett moved Drew onto his stomach and pulled his shirt up as much as she could get it to see the wound. The gash was worse than she thought. "Okay, okay, okay…" She muttered under her breath as she poured warm water onto it.
Drew's eyes flutter open, but shut quickly as he writhes in pain, grunting. He opens his eyes again, vision swimming. What's going on? Where am I? He tries his hardest to focus on his surroundings, but his attempts render useless as someone pours something on his wound and he cries out.
"Shh, shh, it's okay, you're okay," Bridgett tries to calm him as she dabs at his back with a cloth.
She searched the wound to be sure there was no debris in it. Unfortunately, there was a piece of glass in some tissue near his spine. It had barely missed his spinal cord and major arteries. Bridgett pulled it out with extreme care before cleaning the wound again and beginning to stitch it up.
"Shh, shh, it's okay, you're okay," Bridgett's voice rang through his head. In that instant, it all came flooding back to him. He recalled stumbling his way to the library and seeing Jay. Jay… oh, Jay… He couldn't imagine the position he had put the young boy in. *That kid had already had so much happen in his life, but Drew still felt the weight of guilt weighing on him, knowing that he helped contribute to one more, potentially traumatizing thing for Jay. Bridgett pulling a piece of glass from his back brought him out of his thoughts. Drew tried his hardest to not move so it could be easier for her. He bit his lip so hard that it drew (haha) blood in an attempt to keep himself from crying out. He felt extreme pain and extremely helpless and he hated it.
(haha)
Bridgett was quick and steady as she sewed the gash closed. The bleeding had stopped for the most part. She had suppressed her rising panic for the time that she needed to be calm but she could feel that her calm was going to die very soon. She finished closing and tied off the stitch before sitting on the floor and grabbing Drew's hand in one of hers and Jay's in the other. A few tears of shock and fear began to fall.
