Jax awoke on the hard concrete. Her head pounded and her shoulder ached. Where am I? She wondered blearily as she looked around. They were in the middle of an abandoned alleyway. Seeing the rest of the flock made her sigh with relief. Everyone was there. Memories returned to her mind, of leaving the School, flying away with everyone. It was the happiest moment of her life. She sighed and sat curled up against the wall, waiting for everyone else to awaken.
"Mornin', sunshine," A deep voice drawled quietly, as a figure stood up.
Winston, for some reason, had always had a think Southern accent. No one in the School had one, none of the flock had one. Only him. When prompted about it, he always shrugged and said he watched a lot of Western movies.
"How'd ya sleep?" he asked, stepping over the sleeping bodies of his friends to sit down next to Jax.
Jax shrugged sleepily. "I mean, it was alright, for sleeping in on the concrete." She brought her hands up to her face and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

(Thanks lol, wish more people did)
There were two things that showed Winston hadn't been up for very long. #1, his hair wasn't slicked back. Every time he;d turn his head, it would flop around and get in his face despite his best efforts to keep it out. #2 was that his face was overgrown with black stubble, making him look closer like a thirty year old instead of a teenager.
"You act like we ain't ever slept in wors' places," he said, patting the concrete. "Sure beats sleepin' in a dumpster."
A tiny smile crept up her face. "Definately better than sleeping in a cage," she muttered, yawning. Her hair didn't need to be done in the morning, seeing as it was so short. She ran her fingers through it as she looked up at the sky.
(I'm gonna wait for someone else to respond so this doesn't become a O/O)
Reese fell off a pile of boxes and landed on a rock. "Ow! HolyshitwhereamI?" He said in one breath.
"Reese!" Winston whisper-shouted, putting a finger to his lips. "You tryna wake the whole flock or somethin'?"
Callie, who had been sleeping on her side with her wings serving as a blanket and her wrist as a pillow, blinked as she woke up. She didn't freak out or anything, just glanced around a little quickly. Feeling something cold underneath her reminded her of a cage, and, well, we don't need to discuss that. She got up and stretched, careful not to be too loud and wake anyone else. "Morning," she said quietly to Reese, Winston, and Jax.
"All the Erasers in the world probably heard you too," she grumbled to Reese, then turned to Callie. "Morning."
Winston waved Callie over to where he and Jax sat, giving her a brotherly smile. "How'd you sleep?"
"I slept alright, thanks. How about you?" Callie asked, walking over to them and sitting down.
"I didn't," he said with a shrug. "It was my watch tonight, since Ellie had it fo' the past few nights."
Reese stuck out his tongue and rubbed his back. "Not my fault. I fell on a rock." He grumbled, doing a two finger salute towards Callie. "What's the plan for today?"
"Depends on what Ellie wants to do when she wakes up," he said, feeling the stubble on his chin. "You know she's the boss."
"I hope its breakfast after we pack up camp." He grumbled and came to sit by them.
(Ah shoot I missed so much! I'm sorry guys!)
"Ugh…" Ellie grumbled as she woke up. "Who shouted? Geez…" She rubbed her eyes and sat up, having slept on the floor. Grimacing as her muscles complained from sleeping on the hard floor, she whispered. "Ouch."
"Mornin'," Winston said for what felt for like the millionth time. "Is your back hurtin'?"
"I shouted, stupid rocks." Reese said in greeting
"Well that was great and dandy… who's hungry?" she asked in a sleepy voice. Actually, what she wanted was some coffee, but they didn't have that kind of privilege in their current state. "Everyone okay?" Ellie yawned.
