"Nickel's right,"" Winston said, in contrast to Reese's response. "For now, we gotta go on foot. We could catch up with ya when we heal up."

Now, this was a disaster waiting to happen. Callie's shoulders prickled with apprehension. "No way," she said, "That's just…no. I can feel it." Her disaster sense was blaring alarms at that. "You guys shouldn't fly, but you shouldn't go alone. If the Erasers catch a whiff of you and you're on your own…" Callie trailed off, looking at the ground. She didn't want to imagine the slim chances Reese and Winston would have if they were caught by a large pack and couldn't fly away.
He opened his mouth to protest, but chose against it when he saw Callie's face. She senses something bad.
"Alright, alright," he said quietly, slipping his hands onto the pocket of his sweatshirt. "We won't split up, then."
“So what are we going to do?” Fox asked, furrowing his brows in confusion. “Are we all just going to walk?”
(I'm sorry I didn't get a reply up sooner, I came down with a migraine last night.)
"We could act like humans, take the bus places?" Ellie offered. She couldn't come up with a better plan.
Fox wasn’t exactly a fan of that idea, but it was better than nothing. “Sounds reasonable,” he agreed.
"Yeah, but no subways…" Nic said.
"No," Ellie agreed. "Subways are too… confined. At least buses have an emergency stop, and if necessary we could escape out the back."
Callie relaxed a little and took a deep breath. Things were gonna be fine. "That'd make sense, at least until we can all fly," she agreed.
(Hey, I keep forgetting to ask, but did our characters have a Jeb-like person help break them out of the School?)
Fox nodded. “So we’re really leaving.” He sounded excited about the prospect.
(are they just gonna like all be a happy family and stuff or is anyone gonna end up getting kidnapped and taken back to the school like Angel? if so Fox can be it lol)
"Is everyone ready?" Winston asked, studying the flock for conformation.
"I guess, yeah," Ellie said softly. She wasn't quite ready to accept their freedom. After all these years of running, they were suddenly being thrust into freedom? How was this possible?
"Of course. Before we leave though, what money do we have left? Should we note down anything useful? Like things that can be used as weapons?" Reese asked, walking closer to the grooup
"Hm. well, I think we just spent all our money," Nic said awkwardly. "So maybe we should…sneak onto trains or something…"
“We could pickpocket?” Fox suggested, his eyebrows raising with a bit of guilt at the suggestion.
Despite not liking the idea, Callie knew that they couldn't exactly get an honest job. "We'll probably have to," she said.
"Yeah, that's true," Ellie admitted.
"I have like," he paused, rummaging through his pocket. "5 dollars in loose change." He frowned. This wouldn't be enough for anyones ticket but it could come in handy when it came to buying snacks at a convenience shop.
“I have two dimes and a penny,” Fox added, smiling sheepishly. He rummaged in his other pocket. “And a small rock. That’s it.”
"I have chocolate!" Nic said, holding up a squashed Tootsie Roll.
"I have… nothing," Ellie came up with sheepishly.
(bump)
“So when are we leaving?” Fox asked, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He was ready to go.
(never, apparently)
(lol)
