Razin takes a seat next to Lil, not sure whether to talk now or later, in private.
She didn't look up at him, she just continued reading.
He bit his lip, watching the TV channels flash by when he decided he better do it now rather than later. "Lil, I love you. You know that, right?"
She grunted quietly.
"Is that a yes?" He asked, laying his head on her shoulder, "'Cause if it's not then I clearly have been doing something wrong."
She grunted again.
He didn't say anything, instead, he started to read the book she was from his place on her shoulder.
It was a family history book, and it had pictures of older men and women grinning up at the camera. One of the women seemed to have Lil's nose.
He watched her flipping each page, looking at each person before she turned the page again.
She eventually finished the book and stretched forward for the one on the coffee table.
He waited for her to get the other book, sitting up straight. He went back to watching the TV.
She sat back and opened the book. Amon had settled on a baseball channel and was rooting for the hometown team.
Razin join in the supporting of the hometown team just as Azele walked in.
Azele sat down on the plush armchair and glared over at her husband. "Really?"
"What, Razin wanted to watch it."
Azele huffed. "Fine, only because he wanted to."
He raised an eyebrow at Amon but said nothing, instead he went back to watching the game.
Amon glanced over and winked. Razin saw it in his peripheral.
In his mind, he rolled his eye, in real life he kept his eyes on the game.
Amon grinned wider and looked back at the TV.
They watched until the end of the game, at which point Razin stood up, "I guess we better be off."
Lil glanced up and agreed and stood up with him. "Yes, it was so nice for you to have us over."
He hummed in agreement, "Yes, thank you very much." He started to walk towards the door.
The pair saw them out, and Lil got in the driver's seat.
Razin got in the passenger's side, putting on his seatbelt as Lil started the car.
"Well, that was interesting. As always." She sighed.
"Yeah," He agreed, turning to look at her, "Are you alright? You didn't talk much."
