"Are you honestly naive enough to think you can always control when you die? Hell, you could get shot by someone else while trying to kill yourself. Nothing is guaranteed."

"That may be the actual stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life," Cassiel stated with the biggest eye roll she had ever performed.
"Yeah, well, that doesn't change the fact that you have nothing to lose. We're all orphans or some shit. No family, no belongings, nothing."
"I have a fucking LIFE," she retorted. "Which I don't currently at this moment want to lose. But, I mean, if it comes down to it, I would literally rather die."
"Hey, angel face? Little help here?" Scipio turned to Marduk, frustrated.
Marduk approached the arguing pair, and solemnly looked upward.
"Chances are, the legions of Hell will come some time soon. Had they gotten to you before me, they may have molded you into a soulless tool in a process worse than death." He explained.
"Ok, so… what you're saying is, I should drown," she concluded.
"All they'll do is capture your soul more easily." He explained. "It's your choice. You can run, now that you know what's going on, or you can join me and maybe save humanity."
"Wha - this is stupid. This is so fucking stupid. You know what, I - " she gave a growl of frustration, punching the tree and hissing with pain when she pulled her bloody hand away. "Why is everything I do stupid? Is this my sole purpose in life?"
The angel was wordless, standing motionless like a machine, unflinching, robotic, he waited.
"Okay, you know what, no, I don't care, my soul can be tortured for eternity, I don't care, I probably deserve it anyway," she decided, waving her arms wildly.
“But eternity is a really long time,” Cleo commented mystically, angling her head to one side. “Nothing you do or did could ever get you to deserve such.”
"You don't know me," Cassie snapped, turning around so no one could see the nervousness on her face. "This shouldn't be a hard decision. I really don't care."
