Leah's gaze softened as she saw Kameo cry. For years and even now, she would have dreams of her family, the pain hitting her randomly. "I-" Leah paused, not knowing to say. "I'm sorry about Ace, Kameo. I wish I could have saved him. . ."
"We wish a lot of things, " Kameo said, kicking at the ground, bitter about Ace. His gaze softened, "But that's the past, Cap." he drew in a breath, "We should…we should let go."
She nodded faintly, still guilty about not being able to save Ace. There's so many people you could have saved, Leah. So many. . .
"Hey." he placed a hand on Captain's shoulder, "It's okay. It's not your fault."
(BTW Ace isn't dead)
Daso didn't know how to make them feel better. He watched them with the sadness and pain in their eyes and wished to heaven he could help them.
( Nice, plot twist. )
"I couldn't save him, Kameo. I couldn't save Sara, I couldn't save Day, I couldn't save Leo. . ." Leah trailed off, looking up at him. "Maybe if I had run faster, or if I had been closer . ."
(You see, Ace thinks Kam is dead and Kam thinks Ace is dead)
Kameo frowned, "It's not your fault, it's mine."
Leah shook her head. "It's my crew. I should be able to ensure that everyone stays alive." She sighed, looking towards the water.
( is it morning. . . I'm quite confused xD )
(Well then, ignore that last part )
"Everyone should go grab some food. I'll check up on the rest of the ship." Leah said, turning back towards Kameo and Daso.
"Aye aye cap," Daso said. He wasn't even close to being hungry –with a murder on his hands and a course set for Sole, he couldn't think of eating. He decided to return to his cabin to try and rest some.
(Going to bed. Night!)
( Night! I might head off too )
"Right." Kameo poured a potion onto his hand, taking the burning of his flesh as a nice distraction.
Oh my god Ace!!!!!)
Morrigan got into some clothes, berating herself over and over again in a panicked frenzy in case Kameo came back. She paced around the room, eyes darting around wildly until she finally picked up Her silver dagger. Bad dogs are punished…
Daso leaned back on his hammock, holding his bracelet and inspecting it. It'd been a while since he'd actually taken it off. The fraying braided purple and brown fabric was drenched in nostalgia. He remembered the day his sister had given it to him. Somehow both distant and loving. For you, she'd said, shrugging, since you need some sort of identification. Daso had immediately run to make her one, calling them "friendship bracelets" symbolizing their unbreakable bond. She'd laughed at his romanticism, pulled his hair, and moved on. Neither of them knew how much the bracelets would end up meaning to them.
Daso didn't realize he was crying until teardrops made their way down his chin and tickled his neck. Salty, like the sea breeze. Funny how freedom tasted like tears.
Lucian groaned as he sat up in bed. It had been a long night, and he vaguely remembered drinking and sleeping pills. He swung his legs out of bed, grimacing from a hangover. He changed his clothes, not attempting to fix his hair yet. He paced out of his medical room, using the fresh air to try and jolt him awake.
Alice was quietly accounting the bottles of pills to make sure no one had snuck any out. Making checks on her clip board.
Morrigan removed the knife from the hash she’d opened right under her rib cage, hiding te knife, pulling down her shirt and hurrying out of her room.
Lucian leaned against the edge of the boat, looking down into the choppy water below. He ran a hand through his hair and exhaled sharply, in thought.
She ignored the pain as she took a deep breath of the morning air, spotting Lucian and running over.
Lucian heard steps behind him, and he turned his head to look at Morrigan. “Morrigan, afternoon.”
(Isn’t it morning?)
Morrigan nodded. “Lucian.”, she said in a way of greeting, leaning against the rail.
