(No Morrigan…)
(no one talk to Ryan right now I'm trying to write his backstory so I might not respond)
(She survived, at least. The one thing that stopped her was the fact that she’d never picked up the letter from her mother [who was actually more abusive than her father but she denies it] that she picked up with Lucian just now)
( is it just me, or is the website not working )
"I wish I could've met them both," Daso said with a smile. "Who knows? Maybe George and I would flirt with each other and you'd never have to worry about me flirting with you."
(Idk it’s working for me)
(When you try your best but you don't succeed)
(Wait…. is that a line from "Fix you" ???)
(Fine for me.)
"Then I'd be jealous." Leah grinned, nudging Daso playfully and continuing up the mast. She dropped down onto a wooden beam, reaching the rigging and quickly securing a two half hitch knot.
Daso scrambled after her, laughing. He reached a beam and sat back. "So, what do I do? I can tie a knot, thanks to navy training, but I don't know which knots to tie."
Ryan took out the notepad and pencil he had gotten from his sisters before he left. He tapped the pencil on the paper for a few seconds before suddenly jerking his head up. Oh no…I forgot to find Naomi…it's fine. She won't remember me after six years anyway. He began writing.
Dear Ella, Allie, and Fynn,
I just got back to the ship. We haven't left yet, but I already miss you guys. I don't know when we're departing or where we're going next, but I'll be sure to write to you then.
Ryan didn't plan on sending this letter. This was something for him to keep. Something to keep him calm right now.
Leah placed her hands on her hips as she looked around, balancing on the edge of the beam. "Two half hitches over there and a sheet bend there." She replied, motioning towards the areas.
Leah walked towards one of the ropes, kneeling down and looping the rope into a knot quickly. She hummed a folk song as she worked, constantly blowing her hair out of her face.
Leah's hums reached Kameo's ears and it hit him back to memory lane. His mom, singing as she danced around the living room, making sure father wasn't here yet. He didn't like the dancing. Or the singing. He especially didn't like that Kameo liked the singing and dancing.
"Why are you making my son into a girl?!"
(I have to go now guys bye!)
Silver whistled a tune while he worked.
Daso set to work, twisting and tying knots. He heard Leah humming a bit and smiled. "If your humming is so pretty, I bet your singing is phenomenal," he pointed out.
Leah smiled and shrugged, sitting down to continue the work on the rigging. A breeze blew past her as she looked towards the horizon, the vastness bound by the vault of the sky. The ocean made her feel small, but free as well. Leah turned back towards the ropes, checking that they worked.
Cicada climbed up the mast after the bottom rigging was finished, "Need any more help up here?"
"Sure, red. We could use a few extra hands." Leah replied, looking up. "You can check those over there." She motioned towards the ropes that were recently tied.
"Got it," Cicada easily walked across the beam and began checking the knots.
Daso finished his knots and brushed his hands off, enjoying the breeze for a moment. The air was so clear the higher he got.
Leah rubbed her eyes tiredly as she pushed herself up, clinging to the mast. She had barely slept since the Sirens had come. The people she had seen kept her awake. She continued to watch the water lapping against the side of the ship, the sun already beginning to sink towards the ocean.
Silver finished up with fixing the leaks and went to see if Leah was okay. "Need any help?"
"Could you see if the infirmary needs some help?" Leah called down towards Silver, leaning over the side of the beam.
