"Got it!" Joanna yelled. She shoved her weight into the heavy steering wheel. The ship started to turn right.
"Got it!" Joanna yelled. She shoved her weight into the heavy steering wheel. The ship started to turn right.
Daso continued chest compressions. She seemed to be waking up, but he wanted to be sure. "Cicada?"
Ryan's face stung as the cold sea water fell on him. He bit his lip and ignored the pain on his hands and face as he helped turn the ship, adrenaline keeping him stable.
"D-Daso?" Cicada tested her voice out. Her eyes wouldn't open, but she seemed to be able to speak.
"Thank God," he breathed, his shoulders slumping as he finally relaxed. "Can you sit up?"
(Should we be clear of the sirens now?)
"I-I" Cicada was still breathing raggedly, "I don't think so. N-Not yet at least."
(Should we be clear of the sirens now?)
(Probably. Silver's on the ship because we all kind of forgot about him.)
Daso nodded. "It might help to cough, right? You might have water in your lungs."
Her breathing started to even out as she coughed up the remaining water, "Thanks for that."
Joanna sighed in relief as they pulled away from the sirens, their voices now mere echoes. She walked over to Ryan. "You're pretty good at this."
"Thanks." Ryan relaxed a little when he didn't see the sirens following them. He let go of the ropes and collapsed to the ground, panting and rubbing his aching hands.
"No problem," he replied, exhaling heavily. "Glad you're okay. You had me worried for a second there."
"Yeah," Cicada slowly sat up. Her gaze was still foggy, "The siren caught me off guard."
Joanna crouched next to him. "How 'bout we go find Lucian and see if he has anything for your hands?"
He nodded, standing up and feeling a little pitiful. These people probably think I'm so lame thinking that rope burns are a bad injury
"Me too." Daso smiled. "At least you were somewhat conscious. I was completely fooled."
"Don't feel to bad about it," Cicada smiled back, "It was a lot easier for the sirens to find someone you love."
"True," he said simply. He stood up, holding out a hand to her. "Let's get you to the infirmary."
Cicada grabbed his hand, "You're going to have to help me there."
Daso smiled, "Of course, red. Here, I'll carry you again. You're light as a feather." He swept her into his arms and carried her bridal style to the infirmary.
"Gee thanks," Cicada rolled her eyes, but allowed herself to be carried there.
Lucian heard others come in and he pushed off from where he sat by Morrigan’s legs at the end of the table. “Did she get lured over too?”
Daso knocked at the infirmary door with his foot. "Lucian? Morrigan?" he called, hoping they were inside and that Morrigan was alright. Cicada wasn't heavy, but his arms burned from climbing, swimming, and carrying for so long.
(Just act like they came in and Lucian said that after, I guess…)
