"OH COME ON. IF YOUR GOING TO BE ON THIS SHIP, DON'T STEAL FROM CREWMATES!"

Leah tried to imagine what it would be like if her siblings came back and died again. She wouldn't be able to bear it. "I'm sorry Kameo. . . I'm so sorry that he's gone." She finally said, speaking up.

"NOT MY STYLE JON!" Cicada laughed maniacally.

"UGH! I'M NOT GETTING YOU KNIVES THEN!" Joanna threw a gesture in her direction and walked back to the kitchen.

Cicada heard the footsteps march away from her. She slowed to a stop and caught her breath. She would leave the knives on the kitchen door in the morning. Cicada didn't need new knives, she liked her twin daggers. She looked at her hand and saw a thin line of blood. "Great," she muttered to herself, "I wonder if Lucian just leaves bandages lying around?"
Cicada walked back towards the infirmary to find out.

"I know." he brushed his hair back. "I am too." he choked back a sob.

She nodded slowly, looking up at him. "What do you want to do for him. . . a funeral, maybe?"

Lucian exhaled softly, looking down at their hands. “You continue to say that about yourself,” he started in a slow tone, “Everyone here, we care about you. If you weren’t good like you say, we wouldn’t care as much. But we all do, I do. And it’s hell to see you beat yourself up mentally over thoughts like that.” He paused, thinking of more to say. He wasn’t sure if the words were really coming from him, or the therapist side of him. He really hoped that it was the first option. He hesitantly brought her hand up, pressing his lips to her knuckles gently below lowering her hand back down. “Do you understand?”

Her heart skipped one, two, three beats and her breath caught. “I—I understand.” Her voice wavered. “I— ever since my brother died……………… It’s my job to make sure I don’t hurt anyone else.”

She nodded slowly, looking up at him. "What do you want to do for him. . . a funeral, maybe?"

"A long time ago, he told me that when he died he wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scattered along the Tarakona mountain range." Kameo closed his eyes, holding back tears, "I never thought his death would be so soon."

Lucian nodded and kept her gaze. “I know, I couldn’t even begin to imagine what you went through… I’m always here to talk to you about it, if you’d like,” he said.

Leah nodded, brushing back a strand of hair behind her ear. She bit her lip so she wouldn't cry too. "Tarakona mountains. . . " She paused, thinking of where they were. "Of course we can stop there."

Joanna decided to go find Kam and Ace. She grabbed the bag of caramels and set off to find them.

"It's where he was brought up. He wanted-he wanted to be with his friends and family when he died." Kameo tied his hair back. "Can you tell the others Leah? I really don't want to say it again."

"I'll let them know." Leah replied, and pulled him into another hug. "He loved you a lot, you know."

“That— That would be nice of you.”, she admitted. “His name was David.”, she whispered, eyes glazed with tears.
