(Okie dokie. Do yoj wanna do it?)
(Sure!)
Zara sat in the same desk she did yesterday as she fiddled with a mass of paper clips she had twisted together. She was trying to shape them into a spiked ball.
He walked in after getting taught another "lesson" by the same boys from earlier, in the bathroom. His had a bruise on his cheek and he had just got his nose to stop bleeding. He limped into the room with his head hung low and his hands in his pockets as his honey brown-golden hair fell into his face. He quietly sat down in the seat farthest from Zara as he twiddled his thumbs together, humming a soft tune to try to make him forget about what had just happened. When he said he's gotten best up every day and still does, he wasn't lying.
Zara glanced up at Iseul and then back down at the ball before doing a double take. She got up and stomped over to his desk before slamming her hand on the desk.
"Who did this? It was them, wasn't it?" She asked, almost growling.
He jumped as she slammed her hand on the desk, flinching as her as he let out a little sound that was almost cute in a way. And it would be if he wasn't all bruised and beaten up. "No, it's fine…..please sit back down before he comes in" he says referring to the teacher that came in at the beginning to check on them. His arm was up and in front of his face as he spoke, his eyes closed tightly shut as if she were to hurt him.
Zara huffed. "We are talking about this after he leaves though." She said, pointing at him, trying to get her point across that she wasn't going to let this go. She went back over to her seat and sat down, drumming her fingers on the desk as she waited for the teacher.
He let out a sigh of relief as she left, laying his head down on the table, facing her. He watched her clack her fingers on the desk. His eyes were dropped as he looked at her. She was actually really pretty….
He quickly lost his train of thought when he jumped up at the sound of the door opening and closing and the teacher walking in.
The teacher gave the same speech as he did the day before and left, locking the door.
Zara got up and walked back over to Iseul and slid into the desk next to him. "It was them, am I correct?" She asked, flames of anger in her eyes.
"Please….dont go beat them up" he says scooting away slightly, almost tipping over his chair as he did.
"They got their money….its fine." He says looking down at his hand. His wrists were slightly red from them grabbing and pulling him everywhere. They took his money, all $20. He knew this was going to happen.
Zara slammed her fist down on the table.
"Why the h3!! shouldn't I?" She asked. "Look at what they did to you! You look like you joined the wrestling team and they didn't go easy on you!"
"Sorry," he says flinching at her as she slammed her fist on the desk. He never liked it when anyone did things like that. It reminded him of….
"You don't even know me, why do this?"
Zara looked at him dead in the eyes.
"And you don't know me. Why would you offer me 50 bucks, just like that?" She asked before lowering her head and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Well everyone takes my money anyway….whether I know them or not. I don't want to get off to a bad start with you. Ya know….the most dangerous person in school. I was being smart."
He says with a tinge of anger and annoyance to his voice as he did. Though he didn't mean it.
Zara sighed again. "Then you won't need to worry about that any more." She said. "You know the saying never judge a book by its cover?" She asked, already knowing that he knew it meant.
"Of course I do. I'm no idiot. And I don't judge you by your cover. You're actually quite beautiful, but I do know you're dangerous. I've seen things" he says with a shrug. He was quiet, therefore he could get away with catching onto things, or even watching a fight other people wouldn't. He wasn't one to judge someone based off of how they look.
Zara shook her head. "And did I ever get in a fight with you?" She asked looking at him. She took out the plum from hee pocket and began rolling it her hands.
"N-no…." He says a little quieter now. He had tried to be confident while talking to her, but it quickly faded away every time.
"Then you have nothing to worry about. I know I've built a bad reputation for myself but I don't pick fights with people without a reason." Zara said as she took a bite out of the plum.
"Okay…. Well I didn't known that before. Now I do" he says looking down at his desk. He was getting a little annoyed already. But that was most kindly because of his pounding headache.
Zara stared at him for a minute or two before sighing and heading back to her desk. It was obvious that he didn't want to talk at the moment so she'd try again later.
He stayed quiet as she did. He actually really wanted to ditch again. It was really fun the last time he did it. And yeah, he knew he shouldn't. But something in him was urging him to just climb out of the window and run away. Not even coning back.
Zara leaned her head on the desk, she too wanted to ditch but if she didn't come back there was a chance she would get suspeneded. She slowly closed her eyes.
(Should something happen?)
(Maybe? The kids that bullied him get detention last minute?)
(Oooh, I like it.)
