@Oakiin
"Yes," he replied. "It taunted me the whole way, saying terrible things. I gave up out of sheer exhaustion, but it didn't let me rest, it made me walk for another two months."
"Yes," he replied. "It taunted me the whole way, saying terrible things. I gave up out of sheer exhaustion, but it didn't let me rest, it made me walk for another two months."
"I feel bad for you. I promise i'll get you out of this hell hole." She said with a hint of confidence in her voice.
It was fun, too. You should have heard him begging to sssssstop
He gave her hand a squeeze. "Thank-you," he said. "Let's try to get to that house. Once we're there, We might be able to make some sort of system for figuring out where we've been."
"You're welcome, and okay then."
They traveled through the mist, avoiding any spots where the ground sank away into marsh. They passed through scraggly forests, where the trees grew grey and thin. From time to time, Sabriel would brighten, and say that he thought he recognized some sort of land mark, but he'd always falter into doubtful silence upon getting closer.
For what Raven guessed to be three or four hours, they trekked along, but a sudden, dark shape looming out of the mist stopped them in their tracks.
"I…think we found the house?" Sabriel said doubtfully. "That's what it looks like, but that was so easy. Almost too easy?" He glanced at Raven, his gaze troubled. "What if it wants us here?"
"Maybe it's filled with traps now?" She asked, still looking at the dark shape
"Maybe." Sabriel's voice quivered slightly. "What are we doing, we can't win, it always wins. Nothing happens that it doesn't want to have happen."
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Let's go in anyway. We might be able to get a break here. That's happened before when I've found this place. Sometimes it leaves me alone when I'm inside."
(Not going to be on today, I have a horse-show, so I'll be back tonight)
(oki den)
She gave his hand a squeeze and looked at him. "Even is the odds are stacked against us, we'll get through this, and let's hope it leaves us alone for now."
(Back! :D Sorry I wasn't on yesterday either, that show totally wiped me out TwT)
Don't go in. Don't leave me alone.
Together they entered the building. It was dark, but the fog that prevailed outside was absent from the barn. Shadows clung to the corners like cobwebs, inky black, and straw was piled high along every wall. The musty scent was overpowering, but it brought an almost pleasant change from the stink of the outside.
Sabriel gave a sigh of relief. "It's safe here," he said, hope creeping into his voice. "I can't hear it anymore. Maybe we can get some sleep here for a while, then I bet we could use the straw to leave a trail when we leave, so we know where we've been."
(it's fine, and srry I wasn't on before)
"Finally, some peace from the thing." She said as she gave a sigh of relief. "If we leave a trail using the straw, it will probably disappear sooner or later."
(Ah, no, don't worry abt it :3)
"True," he agreed. "But what else can we do?"
"Probably nothing, maybe remember how we came here, and decipher the pattern it uses to change things up?" She suggested.
(gtg, back in a couple hours)
"I don't think there is a pattern," Sabriel said. "I know I've never gotten to this place this easily before."
(k)
"We can always try."
