Briar brushed herself off, stood up, and surveyed the area around her.
“It’s going to be dark soon. We’re going to need to make a shelter and find something edible. Water, at the least.” She mused to herself.
Briar brushed herself off, stood up, and surveyed the area around her.
“It’s going to be dark soon. We’re going to need to make a shelter and find something edible. Water, at the least.” She mused to herself.
"Maybe there's a river somewhere," they suggested, looking around. "There's a small dip in the sand there. I can't see what's at the bottom."
“Well, let’s find out.” Briar marched over to the sandy slope, sticking her foot in the pool. It was much deeper than she thought. The deeper she stuck her foot in, the wider the gap became, until it was the size of a small, but very deep, wading pool.
She studied the water.
“It seems safe to drink, there’s nothing in the bottom, as far as I can see.”
On impulse, she dove into the space, just to make sure she could confirm what she saw.
"Briar?" Thayer asked the rippling water as if it could answer.
The girl popped out from the gap, her hair was in her face, weighed down with water. She pushed it back like a brown velvet curtain, revealing her disatisfied look.
She climbed out onto the muddy banks, her clothes sticking to her body. She shivered and shook her head.
“Nope. There’s nothing down there.”
"I guess this is our water source, then," they said, looking around. "Priorities - next is fire. You'll need that warmth."

(I’m sorry, I get sarcastic when I’m tired.)
As Tyler got nearer to the person, he took in their appearance. They had short, soft brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. Tyler instantly felt some sort of strange feeling with this person - he didn't know what. Slowly, Tyler got near to them. 'Hello, who are you, and do you know what this place is?'
“… I’m Jake. Who are you? And I have nooo idea where this place is.” Jake said awkwardly.
Kieran took a step back and glanced at his wrist - Jake. 'I'm Kieran. And, uh, it seems that your name is on my wrist.'
Jake raised his eyebrow and silently lifted his wrist, showing Kieran the name on his wrist.
Kieran stepped forwards to see the name on Jake's wrist, and was surprised to see his own. 'Jeez, what the fuck? Do you know what's going on here?'
Jake sighed, “Sadly, no. But I wish I did.”
Hesitantly, Kieran sat down next to Jake. 'Well, it must mean something, I guess. What do we do? Because, as far as I know, it doesn't seem like there's a way out.'
“Maybe we should look around?” Jake suggested, nervously combing his hair with his fingers.
Kieran nodded and began to stand up again. 'Yeah, I think I see some sort of house in the distance.' He narrowed his eyes and looked closer at the building.
“Let’s check it out then…” Jake timidly said, standing up.
Slowly, Kieran began to wander towards the house, making sure Jake was with him. 'How old are you?' he asked, curious to know more about Jake. As far as Kieran was concerned, they were both stuck here - he might as well get to know him.
“Oh, I’m 19. …what about you?” Jake asked, trying to not fall on his face.
'19 as well,' replied Kieran, moving along the smooth sand. 'But I'll be 20 next month.'
Orion is still sleeping. Almost falls out of the tree. Cal catches him. Not overly thinking about it, Orion boops Cal in thanks.
Cal lets out a relieved sigh that Orion didn't fall. He was about to ask if he was alright when the other pokes him gently. The gesture confused him, but made him smile, so he booped Orion back on the tip of his nose.
Orion gives a sleepy smile, before promptly falling back asleep.
'19 as well,' replied Kieran, moving along the smooth sand. 'But I'll be 20 next month.'
“Oh,” Jake nodded, “You’re older than me.”
