"I didn't know fear until they'd cornered me, beat me, and stolen whatever they could."
"I didn't know fear until they'd cornered me, beat me, and stolen whatever they could."
Jax let go of the chair leg and nodded, "that sounds like a good idea… I'll go first to ask you something. What's your favorite animal?"
"Cats," Kenzie smiled, thinking of her own. "Yours?"
The color from Briar’s face faded away in an instant. She looked like she was going to be sick.
“Oh my..God..”
"Cats," Kenzie smiled, thinking of her own. "Yours?"
Jax laughed, "dogs are better!"
"Nuh-uh. They totally are not, but I won't argue with you about it. Okay… What was your favorite thing to do growing up?"
"Not as bad as your dad. I was lucky, it only happened seven times. Another boy I knew was killed on their tenth try." She blinked back tears.
“Can we please not…talk about this..” Briar begged, a shaky smile on her face.
“We should focus on better things..” She gave Swan a tiny peck on the lips as a way to lighten the mood.
Swan blushed lightly. "Sorry."
“It’s okay..now..kiss me..” She smirked, cupping Swan’s cheek in her hand.
(Maybe we should have them try to help Jax and Kenzie?)
(That would work.)
(griffin asked Ollie a question a while back, btw)
(and, yeah, sure)
Swan blushed, smiling and leaning forward to brush her lips softly against Briar's, holding back the full force of the kiss.
Ollie blushed at Griffin.
“Here’s five things. One; I hate Trump. Two; I hate Trump. Three; I hate Trump. Four; I hate Trump. And Five…I can tap dance.”
“Mph..you know you can go harder than that..” Briar teased.
Griffin grinned. "Really? Can you show me?"
Swan smiled against Briar, pressing the tiniest bit harder, still teasing.
Ollie grinned “I can’t..I’m not wearing the right shoes. But maybe when we get out of here, I can show you..”
Brair whined.
“Stop teasing..”
Griffin looked at the ceiling. "Hey, can we have some tap shoes over here?" A second later, a pair popped into view.
"Make me."
Oliver slowly laced up the shoes, never breaking his gaze from Griffin’s as he launched himself into an intricate tap routine that he had come up with himself. The shoes’s metal lined tips made a satisfying click each time they made contact with the floor.
Briar bit down gently on Swan’s lower lip.
“How about now, babe?” She smirked.
(oh my)
(whoah, this has escalated!)
(please let it not escalate further…)
Griffin clapped loudly, grinning widely. "Wow, I'm impressed. That was amazing!"
Swan's eyes widened as she complied, kissing Briar hard. Her dark hands were buried in Briar's hair as she pressed harder, feeling her heart jolt.
(It won’t. I promise.)
Briar’s pale cheeks went a bright red, as she melted into the kiss, a smile on her face.
She kissed back, though not as hard.
Oliver wiped away the sweat that had
accumulated on his forehead and grinned.
“Thanks..”
He peeked into the room where Briar and Swan were and screamed.
“Oh my God..ewwwww!”
Swan did nothing but flip Ollie the middle finger, still kissing Briar.
"Ollie!" Griffin yanked him away from the door.
“I wasn’t expecting that..” Oliver whined, glaring at Griffin.
Briar broke off the kiss, having seen the gesture that Swan had made at Ollie.
“It wasn’t his fault..he wasn’t expecting it..”
(Ooh..what if we have the soulmates cheat on one another?)
(NOO PLEASE!!!! My inner voice: Yes, let's hurt our precious babies, let's break our precious babues Outer voice: she's been through too much!! Inner voice: But… heartbreak is rad)
Swan shruged apologetically. "Sorry."
Griffin laughed. "You shoudl know better than to do that, then !"

(I say we listen to our inner voices..)
Outer voice: But Swan has suffered through so much! She doesn't deserve this, and she almost never forgives and forgets, so she would never get back with Briar! Also, Griffin would never cheat! Inner voice: Shut up.)
"Nuh-uh. They totally are not, but I won't argue with you about it. Okay… What was your favorite thing to do growing up?"
Jax smiled, "probably drawing. I'm not good at it now, but I was in like the thrid grade."
